John is the the producer, James the writer and star attraction, and David Green in charge of marketing and distribution. But the aim is also to foster a family of musicians, developing and nurturing new talent who will appear on each other's discs - the same formula used so successfully by Norman Grantz with his Verve catalogue in the 1059's and more recently by Dave Grusin with GRP in the US. It will be a label for the new millennium, not only emphasising its own style of jazz but also taking advantage of continuing developments in digital sound technology James Morrison, Australia's best-known jazz musician for more than a decade, is relaxed and comfortable with the prospect as he sit in his brother's small mastering lab in Crows Nest, on Sydney's lower north shore. Basilica for Santorini , Turrell pares down the image to its most essential geometric elements, but even in the model it retains a sense of architectural scale that houses some mystery in its interior. Other models are formed from familiar shapes gone awry, as with , whose truncat-ed cone echoes the Roden Crater. Odd chambers appear in the model, which also is a reflection of the tunnels and openings Turrell has created in his crater.

As lead singer and lyricist for the Doors, Jim Morrison made the most of his short life, inspiring with his truthful writing and relaxed, authentic vocal style. A psychedelic rocker with a poetic soul, Morrison was a connoisseur of things new and offbeat, experimenting with everything from Nietzsche to the bohemian underworld of California.
Born James Douglas Morrison in 1943, the future rock star grew up in Melbourne, Florida. Jim Morrison's upbringing was strict and conservative as the son of a Navy Admiral. In fact, it was not until college that Morrison even showed an interest in the arts. While studying film at UCLA, he began reading William Blake and writing original poetry. In 1965, Morrison and friend Ray Manzarek decided to form a band, recruiting two more along with Robbie Krieger and John Densmore. The group became known as The Doors, a reference to Aldous Huxley's Doors of Perception.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Jim Morrison December 8 July 3 ) was a singer songwriter and poet Jim Morrison Jim Morrison Born James Douglas Morrison in Melbourne, Florida , he was the lead singer and lyricist of the popular American rock band The Doors . He was also an author of several poetry books. Morrison was the son of Admiral George Stephen Morrison and his wife Clara Clark Morrison, both employed by the United States Navy . As an adult, he was estranged from his strict, conservative parents, so much so that, in a 1967 interview, he claimed they were both dead. According to Morrison, one of the most important events of his life came about in during a family trip in New Mexico . He described the event as follows: The first time I discovered death... me and my mother and father, and my grandmother and grandfather, were driving through the desert at dawn. A truckload of Indians had either hit another car or something- there were Indians scattered all over the highway, bleeding to death. I was just a kid, so I had to stay in the car while my father and grandfather went to check it out. I didn't see nothing- all I saw was funny red paint and people lying around, but I knew something was happening, because I could dig the vibrations of the people around me, and all of a sudden I realized that they didn't know what was happening any more than I did. That was the first time I tasted fear... and I do think, at that moment, the souls of those dead Indians- maybe one or two of them-were just running around, freaking out, and just landed in my soul, and I was like a sponge, ready to sit there and absorb it.
