    Ann Mitchell (1945-1955)
FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLICATION Wednesday 2nd April, 2003 www.DavidASpencer.com/oldraineians/pressreleases.html Ann Mitchell was born on 22 April 1939 in London and attended Raine's Foundation School from 1945-1955. Her career - now into its fifth decade - is one which has attracted great critical acclaim and contains some compelling performances which have left a lasting impression on audiences of theatre, television and film. Ann Mitchell began studying drama at the E15 School of Acting in London at the age of 17 and started working as an actress at 20. Although, like most actors, she has had a very varied career in theatre, film and television, she is probably best remembered by the public for her portrayal of Dolly Rawlins in the 1983 TV drama serial Widows. Ann's career didn't receive the public interest it merited until after she had appeared in the six part TV serial Widows in 1983. She received a joint award from Pye for "Female Who had The Greatest Impact on TV" for that performance and, although she had considerable experience of theatre, film and television work prior to getting this part, she wasn't really well known for it and it's probably fair to say that she 'got her big break' with this performance. It was one of those 'achieving fame overnight' type things - she had been working as an actress for over 20 years before her appearance in Widows, but she seemed to have appeared on the scene from nowhere.

Hello Francis: I'd like to say thanks-I think that people like myself, trying to learn Schemas, will really benefit from this. Edmund M I have put together an initial XML Schema FAQ at http://www.schemaValid.com This is my first attempt at running an FAQ, and I am very much open to suggestions. I like what Dave Pawson has done with the XSL FAQ, although I don't know if the nature of XML Schema will lend itself to a repitition of that format. -Edmund Received on Wednesday, 31 January 2001 13:40:56 GMT This archive was generated by hypermail 2.2.0

While the visual elements of my work may change over time, there is a common set of interests at the core of each series. The interaction between humans and nature, the exploration of issues related to beauty, photographic experimentation, the use of vintage cameras and lenses and most importantly my desire to evoke a response from the viewer are always central elements in each body of work. I have been deeply influenced by the imagery of Josef Sudek, Robert Frank and Sarah Moon in that each combines an openness towards technique with an ability to emotionally transport the viewer. I started my photographic career as a studio food and still life photographer and am now an Associate Professor of Art at Long Beach City College.
