White Cowbell Oklahoma Now we know that we here at ChartAttack write about White Cowbell Oklahoma an inordinate amount — but damn, do they ever give us a lot to write about. WCO are still ridin’ high on the release of their debut album, Cencerro Blanco, and they’ve got a whole lot of crazy and debauched antics coming up on the horizon. First up, the Cowbells have a new video on the way for the song "Monster Railroad." Many of the Cowbell fellas have roots in the theatre, which gives their vids that added special sumthin’. Past videos have included guest stars like Ronnie Hawkins and Sloan’s Chris Murphy , and this new clip will follow in that name-dropping tradition. Cameos include CBC funny man Rick Mercer (or, as we like to call him, the Canadian Jon Stewart), Darren Smith (of The Buzz) and the always enticing Fluff Girls Burlesque Society. Request the video on MuchMusic (hey, it might make it onto The Wedge or Going Costal) or check ‘er out on the official White Cowbell website In other Cowbell news, the band will be playing a few shows in Ontario (plus one in Montreal) before gearing up for Toronto’s NXNE. Now, we’re not going to give anything away, but the boys have taken inspiration from a recent trip to Austin, Texas’ SXSW and are promising some hot booze ‘n’ BBQ action. Keep in mind that last year’s Cowbell NXNE show saw the band nearly get kicked out of the venue they were playing in before they spilled out onto the street and had a hot tub party right on Spadina! I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Wright State University I came to Wright State in 1980 immediately after receiving my Ph.D. in Mathematics from University of Washington . My thesis was in Mathematical Physics on the subject of "Quantum Stochastic Processes", supervised by John Westwater. Soon after I developed an interest in Operator Algebras, and that has since been my field of research. In recent years I have devoted 100%+ effort to the Calculus Laboratory Project and to Technology in Education.
