"Subtle energy" is also referred to as chi, prana, Holy Spirit, manna, ether, or-gone, bio-magnetism and zero-point, among many other names in our current vocabulary. Regardless of the label, it appears to contribute to many phenomena not currently explained by conventional science. "Subtle energy" refers to the medium through which consciousness acts on the realm of matter and energy. According to a National Institutes of Health study, at least 52 terms are used for "subtle energy": chi, prana, holy spirit, manna, ether, orgone, biomagnetism and zeropoint, among many others in our current vocabulary. Regardless of the label, it appears to contribute to many phenomena not currently explained by conventional science: telekinesis, remote sensing, telepathy, gut or heartbased intuition, healing by prayer or other psychic means, biocommunication between species, etc. Since these phenomena have tangible effects that can be documented but not explained by the known principles of the electromagnetic (E/M) field of matter/energy, they require that we hypothesize another force through which conscious intent acts on the affected objects, senses and cells. Some researchers believe a fuzzy part of the electromagnetic spectrum, beyond gamma rays, constitutes this force but that it has not yet been discovered due to the lack of refined instrumentation. Just as the harnessing of radio waves and Xrays had to await the development of new technologies, say these researchers, the development of more advanced machines will enable humans to make use of this fuzzy E/M field.

Pope Paul I
Date of birth unknown; died at Rome, 28 June, 767. He was a brother of Stephen II Archbishop relics of St. Petronilla (q. v.) from the catacomb of St. Domitilla to a chapel in St. Peter's erected by his predecessor for this purpose. The legend of St. Petronilla caused her at that era to be regarded as a daughter of St. Peter, and as such she became the special Roman patroness of the Frankish rulers. Paul also built an oratory of the Blessed Virgin in St. Peter's, and a church in honour of the Apostles on the Via Sacra beyond the Roman Forum. He died near the church of San Paolo fuori le mura, where he had gone during the heat of summer. He was buried in this church, but after three months his body was transferred to St. Peter's. The "Liber Pontificalis" also praises the Christian charity and benevolence of the pope which he united with firmness. Paul is venerated as a saint. His feast is celebrated on the twenty-eighth of June. Liber Pontificalis

Text Only 1981: Thousands see Pope shot in Rome The Pope has been shot four times as he blessed the crowds in St Peter's Square in Rome. Surgeons have performed a five-hour operation and say they hope he will make a full recovery. At about 1715 local time, the Pope was being driven in his Popemobile through a crowd of about 20,000 worshippers when he was hit by four bullets fired from a 9mm pistol some 15 feet away. Two struck him in the stomach, one in his right arm and the fourth hit his little finger. Police arrested a 23-year-old man who said he was a Turkish citizen and gave his name as Mehmet Ali Hagca. He kept repeating: "I couldn't care less about life." The Turkish press has reported Hagca was jailed for the killing of Turkish newspaper editor Abdi Ipecki in February 1979. But he escaped from prison and left behind a letter vowing to kill the pontiff just before the Pope visited Turkey in 1979. Horrified witnesses Many of those who witnessed the shooting in the crowded square burst into tears, or screamed and fell to their knees in disbelief.

Paul Andrews has been a crew chief at NASCAR's top level for 15 years, but he probably never thought he'd see the day when they raced under the lights at Darlington. But that's exactly what will happen this weekend when the tour hits Darlington Raceway for the only time in 2005. Paul Andrews Andrews is in his first season as crew chief for Kyle Petty's No. 45 Dodge. The team hasn't run spectacularly, but they sit 27th in points, two spots better than 2004. Petty lost a lot of ground on Sunday when he blew a tire, hit the wall and finished 43rd.

http://www.iraqcoalition.org/bremerbio.html
Overview The Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) is the name of the temporary governing body which has been designated by the United Nations as the lawful government of Iraq until such time as Iraq is politically and socially stable enough to assume its sovereignty. The CPA has been the government of Iraq since the overthrow of the brutal dictatorship of Saddam Hussein and his deeply corrupt Baath Regime in April of 2003. In addition to protecting Iraqi territorial integrity and working to provide security to the Iraqi people, the CPA has committed itself to rebuilding all aspects of Iraqi Infrastructure so that, upon turnover to the first democratically elected government Iraq has ever known, that government will assume authority over a country ready, both internally and externally, to function economically, provide basic services to its citizens, provide for its own defense, and to play a responsible role in the international community of nations. The Authority is a coalition of many Nations from all over the world, encompassing every major religion and ethnic group. It is led by the United States and the United Kingdom. A list of the nations which are part of this multi-national coalition of states which have undertaken to play a role in the financial, material and military assistance of Iraq is available

what is the Bible for a christian?
A question that has been coming back to me over the last couple of years is how I am to understand the Bible. I have become more and more suspicious about the view many christians held of the Bible being 'word by word inspired'. As a sincere christian I have lost my assupmtion that the Bible is inspired by God in such a way, that every statement that is made, be it theological or referring to science, is'true' in a modern way of the meaning. I suspect that this understanding many evangelicals held is an understanding that is influenced by the 'enlightenment' and in general the modern age.
The question that interests me here the most is what the 'canon', the collection of books we now know as the Bible ment for those 'church fathers' when they decided of what is 'in' and what is 'out'. I am not concerned here about which kind of criteria they used to take this decision. My question is: what did the canon mean for them then? For example: did it mean for them that the chosen books were 'infallible true', or was it rather saying: these books are the books of the church. whoever says something concerning God and Jesus, must take those books as a basis of what they are saying, without qualifying those texts as infallible in a modern sense as such.
What do the members think about this? I am eager to learn from you.

    SYS-CON - unethical money grabbers?
I'm not happy with SYS-CON Media at the moment. A couple of years ago, I wrote an article to appear in one of their magazines called Java Developers Journal. If you don't know what this is, just imagine a magazine stuffed full of advertising and very little actual content and you're not far off the mark. I knew at the time that I was doing this free of charge, but was promised a few copies of the magazine when my article was published. My article got published, but I did not receive a single copy of the magazine. I reminded them about this and was told that they had not printed enough copies. Oh well, there's gratitude for you. Any idea what it's like to contribute several pages of writing to a publication and to never actually see it in print? It sucks. To this day I have still not seen a paper copy of my article. In fact, I have never seen a single copy of Java Developers Journal in my life.
