FERRIS STATE ADDS SAULT STE. MARIES ASHLEY CORBIERE Versatile Guard/Forward Joins Program For 2004-05 Campaign Seventh-year Ferris State University womens basketball head coach Tracey Fisk has announced the addition of prep forward Ashley Corbiere (Sault Ste. Marie/Sault Area) , who has committed to attend and play basketball at FSU beginning with the 2004-05 academic year. The 5-10 Corbiere averaged 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists per game for Sault Area High School during the 2003 campaign. The two-time (2002-03) All-Big North Conference honoree twice received All-Upper Peninsula accolades. Ashleys a hard-working individual whos determined to make an impact, Fisk said. Shes a tough competitor whos played for one of the top teams in the Upper Peninsula. In addition, shes optimistic and fits in well with our team, added Fisk. A two-time (2002-03) team Most Valuable Player Award winner, Corbiere served as the Blue Devils team captain as a senior under head coach Heather Kronemeyer. She attained the squads Best Defensive Player Award in 2001 after helping guide SAHS to both a conference and regional championship in her freshman (2000) season.
