Farewell, Alexandra Cabot
Oh, Stephanie March , what a way to leave . At first, we didn't know how to feel about you, what with your icy demeanor and blond blond hair. Then you grew on us, when you tried to stand up to your boss, played by Judith Light ADA Serena Southerlyn . But then you asked the Don...we mean, Dick Wolf to leave the show, maybe to frolic with boyfriend, Bobby Flay . And you got bangs this season, which should have been another sign of your impending departure. But the writers and producers didn't kill you for your bangs and put you into the beyond as they had with Jill Henessy's ADA Claire Kincaid, but into witness protection, ready to appear as a defense attorney in a future sweeps episode. Till we see you again, Alex..tonight, in syndication on USA Posted by Jen Chung in Television

Odegard and her then-husband joined the Peace Corps. They were assigned to Fiji in the South Pacific, where they worked with local artists to produce crafts attractive to Western buyers.
After her two years in the Peace Corps, Odegard spent a decade as a consultant to the World Bank and United Nations. She struck out on her own in 1987 to prove that she could use the power of business to connect producers and consumers in a way that betters lives.
Today, Odegard, 55, is the owner of the 50-employee Odegard Inc. and its Odegard Rare and Custom Carpets that decorate the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, Restaurant Daniel in New York City and thousands of homes and offices of people who pay $4,000 to $20,000 at retail for 9-by 12-foot rugs.

Wisdom Teeth What's up with those teeth that hide in the back of my mouth and only just now(Heh, the past couple of years) decide that it is time to drive me nuts? Well, I got them. Two teeth out and two more to go. I'll show those teeth who's the wiser! Yeah, they have thier day though, or week. Or months. All my teeth are now fighting back. Hurting. And I have this really nifty bruise dripping down my neck. Bwahhhahahaha, and that is all those teeth can do! In just a few months time, they will no longer be here and the pain the other teeth cause me will be diminished and I will triumph! Huray me! I am the wiser!

Convention Schedule Previous Reports Personality of the Week About this Site ... E-Mail the Author Stephanie Nadolny - Anime Convention Personality of the Week - March 16, 2003 One of the fascinating things about anime is that the character counts more than the gender in voice acting, where Stephanie Nadolny performs boys' roles. The Texan does more than play boys; she's an accomplished singer who has graced many stages and clubs with name of her group and link. But Nadolny's big break into the world of anime fandom came when Funimation moved production of the Dragon Ball dubs to Texas, and she was given the roles of Goku and teen Gokan. Those characters are almost too active for their own good - as was Nadolny once when dubbing the role. "Goku took this flying leap and jumped into the water, and I was really into it and I made this noise like I was jumping into the water...I was on the floor cracking up - I had never had done this before. The director said `There's no need to make the sound effects.'" A careful observer A dynamic fighter With Hebert in Texas Demonstrating her craft

The heart of a champion by Pete Lewis Dixon It was her performance at the recent Paralympics in Athens that vaulted UVic Vikes swimmer Stephanie Dixon onto the world stage, but it's not the eight medals she won that makes her a champion. For that matter, it really has very little to do with swimming at all. Stephanie is an elite athlete, pure and simple. Her spirit, passion and drive are what separate her from the rest of the pack. By the way, Stephanie has a disability. She was born with only one leg. But if you see her don't tell her that, because as far as she's concerned, she's an athlete just like everybody else. And there are awards on her growing list of accomplishments. In March, Stephanie was named Vikes outstanding female Athlete of the Year in her first season with the university swim program. She met the able-bodied qualifying standard for both Canada West and Canadian Interuniversity Sport and competed at those championships with Canada's best athletes. In 2003, Stephanie received Ontario's female Athlete with a Disability of the Year award. The list goes on. Peter Vizsolyi has coached hundreds of swimmers and many Olympians in his 21 years with the Vikes swim program. When he talks about Stephanie he's quick to share that "few have had the toughness and mental fortitude that she has."

    Real Estate Foxtons: The Sequel
    By S.Jhoanna Robledo
(Photo credit: Donald Bowers) I f there’s ever a city for second acts, New York is it. No wonder Foxtons, the New Jersey–based real-estate firm that earned a reputation for being, as one broker put it, “cheapo, cut-rate,” is staging a comeback. When it came to New York in 2002, Foxtons promised sellers reduced fees—as small as 2 percent, compared with the usual 6 percent—for no-frills service that had owners hosting their own open houses. Mea culpa, admits the new CEO Van Davis. “The [old] model was failing.” This time around, Davis says, Foxtons is full-service, glammed up with a Website that includes floor plans and tours for every listing and a glossy magazine showing off many of its properties. Many agents will make rounds in Mini Coopers, probably a better advertising device than the Foxtons street-cart umbrellas that once dotted the city (pictured, a holdout on the East Side). This time, Foxtons will charge 3 percent. “We’ll do everything our competitors do, but for less,” he adds. Them’s fighting words. “Nobody’s going to co-broke with them for 1.5 percent,” responds Bellmarc Realty’s co-owner Neil Binder, explaining that splitting such a small commission isn’t incentive for his agents to show Foxtons properties, limiting their exposure. Barbara Fox of Fox Residential Group wonders how well Foxtons brokers can work our uniquely labyrinthine market. “It’s not always what you know—it’s who you know,” she explains. “They may not understand the nuances of co-ops and the board-approval process.” And in the super-luxe world, says Jed Garfield of Leslie J. Garfield, “people with significant assets would feel more comfortable with a more established company.”

    Terri Schiavo Case
As I watch the Terri Schiavo Case unfold, I am in absolute awe at the number of people who wish to interfere. There has never been any shortage of busybodies in Washington. This is the ultimate dichotomy for conservatives. If they uphold the parents in regard to the saving of a daughters "life", then by inverse action they undermine the marital rights of the husband to make medical decisions for his disabled wife in the process. In order to uphold the sanctity of life, they are forced to undermine the sanctity of a marriage, and vice versa. They are making hamburger of sacred cows in the process. If I were Terri Schiavo, I would not want to live in a vegetative state and fed through a tube and hooked up to all sorts of machines. As we debate the definition of life and death we should contemplate the necessity of human dignity on that formula. If it were me laying there helpless, I would deem it to be an act of kindness to pull the plug and disconnect the tubes. I personally deem it better to rest in peaceful eternity than to exist in a medical hell. The matter is not only a medical decision, but also a spiritual decision, that is properly made by a spouse in times of profound medical catastrophe. It is a good thing that Terri Schiavo is not in full possession of her faculties, or else she would no doubt immediately die of humiliation as the result of having her personal tragedy made so profoundly public as to overcome the memories of the vibrant woman she once was.
