Personal Main Blog Blog Archives Tuesday, 29th June Oops! Comments (0) Sorry the entries have slowed down quite a bit! Rache has been staying since being kicked out of halls on Saturday, so not much blogging time.
Grad Ball tonight - expect pictures and reports up on Friday. Ish. Friday, 25th June That was the week that was Comments (2) Well what a week it's been. Easily one of the best since I've been at Uni.
Monday was England winning 4-2, bowling and Timmy Mallett as previously described.
Tuesday night was Planet V with Rache and her mates, which while not as great as some other nights out was still damn good. Despite nearly falling asleep near the end. At least I was able to get a taxi, man was it pissing down...
Wednesday was results day! Found out I'd got my 2:1. Later found out I got it by 0.8% but it's still a 2:1! Went karting, nearly won, but my own good nature got the better of us. Having stayed ahead of Steve and Izzy all race, they got past us early in the second hour. Chasing down Steve I accidentally nerf him into the barriers. Not wanting to win a race by such tactics, I slow right down and let him back past. Despite jumping past again at the pit stops, Izzy passed Rich and we finished 7 seconds behind. Ah well.
The karting club awards dinner was later on, much alcohol. Then the rush to get into Ziggys before everyone else did. I'm sure most of the Uni was there! Queued up ten to ten, got in at 5 past, but not before downing a drink in the Nag's Head. And then downing a couple of bottles early on. By half twelve all the alcohol and the previous two nights out caught up with me, so I was escorted home. Via campus. Less rain though than Tuesday, but also less taxis.

Personal Main Blog Blog Archives June 2004 Tuesday, 22nd June Anyone who's between 20-25 will have watched Wacaday on TV-AM at some point. I remember watching it every summer holiday while it was on, I must have been quite little at the time... Everyone wanted to go on the show. At the time, anyway!
So when Timmy Mallet makes an appearence at Ikon, you can hardly not go. The place was packed, some random pop crap people sung something, then at midnight out he comes. Of course I think you've gotta be pissed to fully appreciate him ~15 years on, but hey. The 'show' was toned up for an older audience of course... some random stuff was given out... he sings his two songs (Itsy Bitsy... and Speedy Gonzalez) and goes round malletting people. I remember we were singing whichever song it was, or going Bleugh, and when he came to me he seemed to look quite worried at whatever I did!
Next up was the game of Mallett's Mallet. Guess who got picked? Oh yes. After many many years I was gonna play Mallet's Mallet with Timmy! Wicked.
First round was things in the bedroom. There's nothing that can top vibrator, so I lost that one. Then... pop stars? Timmy Mallett was of course my first answer. Somehow I got away with Westlife later on, I had a complete blank (although Timmy and one of the girls on stage were helping us out

News January 2004 Newsletter TELEMED was highly commended in the Beacon Fellowship Award for 2002/2003, and will automatically be entered for the award next year. Dr. Brown (Stoke Mandeville), Dr Katumba (Milton Keynes), Sir Keith Stuart and many others were very supportive. In July, the two founders were guests at the Queen's Garden Party. It was a great honour for the charity and a memorable occasion. Early in September, three members of the committee were invited to The Bristol Children's Hospital to discus the next project. The consultant, Dr Tometzki and Professor Shastry explained their vision for the south west of England, with Bristol Hospital at the centre and several hospitals having telemedicine links. These include, Truro, Exeter, Taunton, Plymouth and Bath. The south west project will be costly and it is hoped that the application to the government for a Section 64 grant will materialise. This will allow the installations to proceed at a greater rate. Another governinent initiative is run by the Experience Corps who facilitate fund raising by publishing "needs" to people wishing to be involved in helping their local communities. We are in contact with the Exeter branch and hope some money will be raised for the wouth west project.

Timmy Mallett in for Johnny Rotten?
Timmy Mallett could replace Johnny Rotten in I'm a Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here. The former children's television presenter is already in Australia as a stand-by contestant. Lydon has reportedly been "surly and uncooperative" since arriving in Australia for the show, sparking speculation he could quit. Mallet would seem an odd potential replacement for the former Sex Pistol. He arrived in Australia sporting blue and ginger hair and brandishing his trademark mallet at airport photographers. ITV has denied rumours that Lydon was about to quit the show. But he was said to be "surly and sulky" after he was forced to do some filming with the other contestants. Born:
25 May 1963 Where: Toronto, Canada Awards: No Major Awards Height: Filmography: The Complete List
Outrageous, isn't it, that despite occasional efforts by the likes of the Comic Strip team, it was a foreigner who made a box-office smash of the advanced and relentless crudity of the British sense of humour? As Austin Powers, Saturday Night Live comedian Mike Myers , with his legendary catch-phrases "Oh, beeeHAVE!" and "YEAH, baby!", his crushed velvet suits, hot-babe girlfriends and naughty, naughty knob-gags, has become one of the most recognisable entertainers on the planet. How can this be, wonder the Brits, when Americans have no sense of irony or high-minded silliness?
One could argue that Myers' success proves once and for all that Americans do have a mighty appreciation of irony. Indeed, considering the likes of Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks and Steven Wright, one might add that they often top the Brits in that quarter. Inspired silliness can be their forte, too. Just think of Emo Phillips or the godlike Pee-Wee Herman. But eventually, in the case of Myers, it's a non-argument. Because he's British. Well, kind of...
Mike Myers
was born on the 25th of May, 1963, in the Scarborough district of Toronto, known to the snobbier townsfolk as Scarberia - a cultural wasteland. His father, Eric, was formerly a cook in the British Army, while his mother, Alice, known as Bunny and formerly in the RAF, was an aspiring actress who'd attended London's Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Both hailing from Liverpool, they married in 1955 and emigrated to Canada the next year, producing three sons - Paul (later in Toronto band The Gravelberrys), Peter and finally Mike, all of them holding British passports. Learning the English language from Eric and Bunny, Mike spoke with a Scouse accent until the age of 6.
