New York Times Claims Moral Superiority; Claims It Only Would Hurt Kids When Really Important
RightPundit shows that the Executive Editor of the New York Times, Bill Keller, has claimed the New York Times would not harm the Roberts children "gratuitous[ly]."
Yep, the Times hurts kids only when it really thinks it is important to hurt them. Never gratuitously. I'm sure the children won't mind, then. Sheesh.
Keller also claims some moral superiority because, he says, he is an adopted parent. I bet anyone Keller wouldn't have the guts to enter a room full of adoptive parents right now and explain how it is that the Times is perfectly willing to investigate their children anytime the parents get a noteworthy job offer. If he had the guts, he could see if the "I'm one of you" defense buys him anything more than a resounding "then you should know better!" before someone pops him one.
Let's remember, too, why the Times wants Roberts investigated: Nearly everyone there fears he might vote to overturn

Hi,
My grandmother, Amy Swart, taught in the Fulton County Schools from about 1910 to 1920. I know that one of the schools that she taught at was the Whitcomb school. Unfortunately, I do not know the names of either of the schools in the pictures.
Amy was born in Morenci, MI Dec 31, 1889. Her family moved to Fulton County and she graduated from Wauseon High School in 1910. Before she graduated, she received a teaching certificate from the Fulton County Board of School Examiners on June 7, 1908. She taught until 1920.
When Amy was not teaching, she attended summer classes at the State Normal College in Bowling Green (1916, 1917, 1919) and Defiance College (1914 and 1915). In 1919, she was teaching at the Whitcomb School and staying at the home of Melvin (1852-1931) and Catherine (1862-1945) Whitcomb.

The Vincent
PEREZ
Archives Swept from the Sea B ased on the powerful short story Amy Foster by Joseph Conrad, Swept From The Sea charts the passionate affair of a young servant girl and her immigrant lover, the sole survivor of a capsized ship bound for America.
To everyone in her village, Amy Foster (Rachel Weisz) is different, shunned by her family and her community. Yanko (Vincent Perez), washed ashore by a violent storm, is a stranger in a strange land. These two isolated souls find themselves caught between their love and the prejudice and hatred their passion has ignited. Set against the backdrop of the craggy cliffs of nineteenth century Cornwall, England, the film is an epic and tragic tale about courage, individuality and the resiliency of the human heart. Film Journal:
" Perez invests Yanko with such truth and detail he grabs the screen and calls it home." Screenit.com:
"The film truly has an epic feel to it - not so much in that it sweeps across locations, but instead passes through time and delivers a tragic drama... Vincent Perez is competent as the wayward immigrant. Certainly looking the part and doing a decent job with the accent, he manages to create an 'outsider' character with whom we easily sympathize."
