More Celebrities Carson Daly Known for heralding in the teen pop music era that characterized the late ‘90’s, Carson Daly began his television career as the host of MTV’s afternoon music video countdown program “TRL,” a spin-off of MTV’s evening countdown counterpart, “MTV Live,” which Daly also hosted. While Daly has since handed off the daily hosting duties on “TRL,” he continues to serve as the show’s executive producer and is coming up on the five-year anniversary of his own late night NBC chat fest, “Last Call With Carson Daly.” Daly dated “Party of Five” actress Jennifer Love Hewitt in the late ‘90’s before the actress broke up with him via her publicist, with Daly learning of the split on the radio. The TV host’s odd relationship with “American Pie” starlet Tara Reid, which ended in 2001 is what many may remember. In addition to calling off their relationship, they also ended their engagement at that time.
