something crawled under my kitchen sink and DEFINITELY DIED.
Ew. Everytime I walked in my kitchen I was all "ew...something REALLY smells like antifreeze!" If you don't know what antifreeze smells like...then...LUCKY. It's gross. So after awhile of smelling antifreeze in my kitchen...I decided to find out where the heck it was coming from. No, there wasn't a big bottle of antifreeze stuffed in a cabinet or anything. I discovered an OOZE trail that was dripping from a wicker basket onto the counter, and then onto the floor. I was all "ew...what is OOZING?" So I followed the trail and it led to a BIG ICKY ROTTEN BLACK PUSSING TOMATO. It smelled so freakin bad. It was horrible. I didn't want to touch it but I DID and I threw it away and now it is GONE forever. It was so gross that I cloroxed the counter and the floor after I rid the house of the icky 'MATER.
I don't like icky 'maters.

ROBERT OSBORNE ON….
Since watching the TCM broadcast of Richard Schickel's Spielberg on Spielberg , and my subsequent fortune of conversing with Schickel regarding his documentary, I've been admittedly infatuated with Schickel's strategy of structural absence; of eliding the questions and going straight to the answers. So after trying it out with John Waters's Midnight Mass appearance , I now offer up the exercise with Robert Osborne, gleaned from a recent roundtable with Charlie Tabesh, Sarah Hamilton, Andrea Chase and Tim Sika.
On Lucille Ball's Advice
When I first started out, my first boss was Lucille Ball at Desilu. She said, "You shouldn't be an actor. You love history. You should be a writer and the first thing you should do…"—because I was a journalism major in school—"the first thing you should do is write a book. It doesn't even have to be a good book; but, people will look at you differently if you're trying to get a job if you've written a book. Because everyone says they want to write a book and few people have the discipline to sit down and write it."
She was so smart and I knew she was smart although she didn't think she was smart because she didn't finish high school; but, she had great street smarts. So I looked around and the subject—you could always find out who won the Oscars but at that point you could never find out who was nominated—so I thought, well

26. Recording Mentor - Apprentice Autobiographies & Progress Reports
For the past month or two, when I ve been going to the studio, a singer named Shelly buffit has been recording lots of material for her new album.
http://www.recordingmentor.com/referencebios.html
APPRENTICE AUTOBIOGRAPHIES, PROGRESS, AND
WORDS FROM THEIR MENTORS
The best references for our apprentice-mentor training come from others like you with the same interests and goals who are going through or have completed their training.
Take a look at some of the varied and interesting backgrounds of some of our apprentices (past and present) in their own words. Although not a requirement, these autobiographies were submitted by those who chose to do so during their initial screening. Their resumes and bios helped in the interview process as an introduction and also as an affirmation of what they plan to accomplish and why. It's proven to be quite a motivating exercise for the candidates, and helps to foster a beginning rapport with their prospective mentor.
Maybe you'll see a little (or a lot) of yourself mirrored in some of their stories, so be challenged or inspired. They did it...they're doing it. And so can you!

I have several items that would look nicer and probably sell if I had them replated such as 2 salt and pepper birds on branches. I would resell them "honestly" with the statement that they were re-done of course. I would like to have some of my dinnerware that I like re-plated also for my own use on holidays. Any comments? Thanks, Shelley

Hi Shelley,
Replating silver can be VERY expensive. In most cases you are better off buying silverplate flatware that is not worn rather than spending the money having it replated. Having said that some of the very old and ornate pieces are worth the money to have restored assuming two things. First the details are very sharp and second the silversmith knows what he is doing (beware, MOST DON'T). The biggest danger is when they strip off the old silver and buff it to prepare the base metal for resilvering. If done poorly they will buff away the details. The less money a silversmith charges, the more suspicious I would be as to the quality of their work. I wish you well in whatever you decide to do. Sincerely, John Leckrone John@hopkinsvilleantiques.com

I am feeling I produce quite good nails now but I really stuggle with a good finish and it's hampering me to get my time down.
This is what I am currently doing:
I use a tuxedo to do my inital filing/shaping then change to a
koala buffer rough side first then the smooth side (without oil - I don't use oil at this point now as Amanda F didn't use her oil at this point as it would ruin the glossing buffer in the next step).
I then use the new creative glossing buffer then use solar oil
I still find I don't get all the tiny scratches out and it's taking me longer to produce the nails I would like.
What do you suggest that gives great results?
Thanks LBR View Public Profile Visit LBR's homepage!

Underneath the Underside of Underachieving
In the history of hip-hop, Black Sheep may be no more than a footnote, the stepchildren of the Native Tongues, a one hit wonder whose hit, "The Choice Is Yours" featured a memorable refrain ("You can get with this, or you can get with that") and an innovative video. That refrain, and that video, are still being copied today.
Those who bought the first Black Sheep album A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing probably did so (like me) for the single. It appeared there in two versions, plus there were some skits, an unmemorable guest spot by Q-Tip, and repeated boasts about soliciting prostitutes and the size of the DJ's penis.
The track that stood out from all that was Black with NV (No Vision) , in which Dres calmly and eloquently dismantles the notion of equal opportunity in education and employment. Heady stuff from a rap group that made a point of being apolitical.

How To Apply Loose Powder Mineral Cosmetics
Author: Janis Ritchie MINERAL COSMETICS MINERAL MAKEUP USERS GUIDE Applying Loose Mineral Makeup Foundations Tap a small amount of powder into the top and swirl your brush into it (for best results we recommend using a Kabuki brush). Tap the bottom of the handle with the brush head facing upward on a hard surface (e.g. Bathroom counter). This settles the powder into the brush head. Firmly spread powder on clean, dry skin to evenly blend pigments. For blemishes, a separate concealer is not needed. Use a shader brush to apply small amounts to the problem areas and blend well. For those with dry, flaky skin, loose mineral foundation can be blended with our specially formulated cream to create a cream foundation. First moisturize as usual, then tap a small amount of powder into the palm of the hand. Add a drop of moisturizer. Blend the two products together until a smooth, creamy consistency is achieved. Use your fingers or make-up wedge to apply. Applying Loose Mineral Cosmetics Veils Mineral Veil can be worn alone or over Mineral Foundation. Tap a small amount of powder into the top and swirl your brush into it (for best results I recommend using a Flat top bronzer brush). Tap the bottom of the handle with the brush head facing upward on a hard surface (e.g. Bathroom counter). Brush powder on and blend well.

Since sanding alone also leaves a lightened, cloudy surface on the baked clay, some kind of buffing is needed to remove it.
