The Apiary talked to Dave Hill , who was nearly annointed ALL 10 SLOTS in Variety's recent Top 10 Comics to Watch list: What did you do there when you weren't performing? The Kiehl's company gave everybody big bags of lotions and soaps. I lost hours each day with that stuff. I looked and smelled incredible all week. Also, I was doing on-camera work every day for HBO, interviewing other performers and whatnot, which was really fun. I got to interview Stephen Colbert , which was a thrill. I was nervous. He, of course, was super nice and hilarious. Other than that, I mostly ate and drank stuff. I ate at a German place called Weinterstube three times. They have these buxom European waitresses there that I want nothing more in life than to take orders from. I went to some fun parties- the Best Week Ever party, the UCB house party (which was not unlike the actual movie "House Party," only with more dudes), and TWO parties that

Armed with this knowledge, it will be very apparent to you why the battle occurred and why it was inevitable in the context of history, as history developed. "What if's" are not relevant and will not be entertained in this introduction to the battle of Hastings. You don't have to read this introduction; you can go directly to the part that deals with the battle of Hastings itself, but that would be like reading about the battle of Waterloo without knowing anything else regarding Napoleon and the Napoleonic Warsin essence, it would be incomplete. The Iberians During the last ice age a land bridge connected the British Isles to the European continent and the Thames and Seine rivers were connected. While the land bridge existed, the Iberians, who lived in the area at the time, moved freely between the two land masses. As the ice age ended and the glaciers receded, the English Channel was formed and Britain was permanently separated from the continent. Naturally, some tribes of Iberians remained on the island to inhabit it as permanent residents.
