He studied art and painting at American University, Washington, DC; and has a background as an illustrator and forensic artist. Although having had a continuing personal occupation with fine art, he nevertheless returned relatively late to its painting in earnest.
Usually painting in watercolors and acrylics, his works are realistic but reflect the artist's particular regard for the Impressionist and American Ashcan schools in both his choices of subjects for painting and their style of rendering.

YES!!! The tie-die idea was definitely in effect. The entire LINE this year spent hours in the dungeon of the band room making these uniforms and they were SWEET. This is the 94' 95' LINE who went undefeated again that year. This was the senior year for alot of the members who graduated in 1995. This picture was also taken at the Chicago competition at North Brook, we finished in 6th place, playing Tom Float music including Paradox and Karn Evil 9. Not too bad, and pretty good. (front row) Kerri Hoesli, Tom Hollinden, Holly Reed, and Brian Nugent. (second row)Donnie Rhodes Travis Powers, Brett Mulzer, and Chad Nugent. (third row) Kim Lutring, Nick Conner, Aaron Brown, Kevin Shaeffer, and Chris Brown. (fourth row) Ryan Hoesli, Desiree Watts, Ryan Akers, Amy Syler, Crystal Powers, and Jason Northerner. Jeff Davis was unable to continue with the Winterline show went we went to Glenbrook.
This picture was also taken during the 1994 and 1995 season, this picture was taken at the University of Moorehead in Kentucky. Our performance there was somewhat crappy, however in the 1998 and 1999 season, the Drumline returned to claim second place. Since the Winterline program has gotten off to it's own start we've only played at Moorehead University twice since. This particular competition features solo performances by members of particpating drumlines across the nation. Including percussion clinics for snare, tenor, and drumset. (front row) Aaron Brown, Chad Nugent, Donnie Rhodes, Holly Reed, Nick Conner, Ryan Hoesli, Jeff Davis, Brett Mulzer, and Travis Powers. (second row)Kevin Shaeffer, Kerry Hoesli, Kim Lutring, Chris Brown, Desiree Watts, Crystal Powers, Ryan Akers, Tom Hollinden, Jason Northerner, and Brian Nugent.

As the boys of summer are putting down their bats, heading fo r the showers, and we head into the home stretch of the baseball season with the playoffs and World Series, what could be more fitting than the film release of what I am certain will become a classic for generations to come, THE FINAL SEASON. There is something powerful about the simplicity and joy of baseball, the innocence and spirit of youth and Americana at its finest.
