Nevills Family
James Nevills, born about 1748 and his wife Eve DeShiro, who was born about 1759 are the earliest known ancestors of my particular Nevills line. Nevills Plates
(info about their early years...coming soon) Contributed by Paul Bingle
Found at the Archives of Ontario: reference RG 1 A1-6 Volume 1; microfilm MS 563-1 The 1795-6 correspondence is self-explanatory (see corroborating Land Records for Stamford Township, in those days known as Township 1, attached). The first piece is addressed to Major David W. Smith of the British 5th Regiment who had been appointed Surveyor General for Upper Canada by the Governor, Lt. Col. John Graves Simcoe. The second, just over 10 months later, is to his understudy, Mr. Thomas Rideout, Assistant Surveyor General, and, apparently James' advocate. The signature on the latter has been digitally enhanced but otherwise unaltered. Spelling mistakes in the originals have, for the most part, been left in the transcriptions, with some letters added for clarity. Both recipients were living at Newark village, near today's Niagara On The Lake.

2/3rds Complete For the past year I have been going to Fleishmanns and logging down all inscriptions of the head stones in the big Cloveville Cemetery as they have no records going back from about 1970. I am submitting here those that I have catalogued as of this date. When project is complete, I will resubmit entire database. If anyone wants to contact me that is okay. I have pictures of everything so far. Thanks Terry, November 17, 2000 Note: Listing of Todds buried in Clovesville Cemetery Name Born Died Age Headstone Comments Welcome Page of the Delaware County NY Genealogy and History Site This website is held in trust by Joyce Riedinger for the use of all Delaware County Researchers

Delaware County, NY Genealogy and History Site transcribed by Les and Dorothy Howland, California The following records are courtesy of the Roxbury Library Associations History Room . Hard Copies of such records are available for viewing and duplication during normal library hours. This compilation is from the notebooks of Amy Gavette and was done in the 1960s . It was manually typed on typing paper. Needless to say some of it is faded and coping it is difficult. If dates don't match you may have to go to the Roxbury Library and see the originals, they too are starting to fade. This is not a public library, they run on support from their patrons and the History room is run by donations, and for such a small room it is packed full of information on the town of Roxbury and some Delaware county information. There are 5 columns to this database, the 5th used by only a few of the records. You will need to scroll. Also, because of the gigantic size of this database, it is broken into many sections. Letters L, M, N
