General Guide
22: BUSINESS RECORDS (i): Business archives
Substantial business archives are held, ranging from the records of individual craftsmen and tradesmen, from the fifteenth century onwards, to those of very large companies with national and international interests, from the eighteenth century. The activities of the former category were usually regulated and protected by the City livery companies and associated trade guilds, whose records are listed in Section 18 (ii). The activities of the latter category have been regulated and promoted by a variety of organisations, some of whose records are listed in Section 22 (ii) below. For records of trade unions see Section 21. Because of the development of the City as a national and international commercial and financial centre, the more modern records tend to have little connection with the City of London as a geographical area, beyond being produced by a City head office, and more with "the City" as a financial institution. It is not possible, within the format of this guide, to describe fully the scope and nature of the collections listed below, although details of amalgamations, takeovers and connections between companies are given. They are, however, fully listed in the London subject catalogue at the numbers indicated in bold.

Robert Millwee has so generously typed and emailed me the information on Horatio Cemetery book. So please email Robert and tell him Thank You. I have also been given permission to post the information by the publisher/author but would not like his name or address given. The cemetery association member you may contact is Carl Stinnett, PO Box 8, Horatio, Ar. 71842. But if you contact either please mention for them to give the author a Thank You. However if you find an error please contact me as directed above. The cemetery is located on the east side of the town of Horatio, Arkansas. The entrance is at the southeast corner of the cemetery, just off the curve in State Highway 41. The cemetery was originated about 1895 on three acres of land along the west side of old Highway 41 believed to have been donated by the S. H. Nunneley Family. They buried their infant son, Fred B. Nunneley, there in November 1895. The oldest marked grave is that of Fannie Bassett, wife of T. E. Bassett, who died May 6, 1895. In 1935, Henry Clay Pride was buied just west of the original three acres, and the west fence was moved fifty feet onto Pride land and was donated to the cemetery.

PLEASANT POINT CEMETERY
Johnson County, Texas Submitted by Margaret R. Bates
Although this cemetery is located in Johnson County, it has links to Mansfield through the early settlers. The land for the original Pleasant Point cemetery was given by Elizabeth Ann Anderson. The earliest recorded burial was Matilda Bell Hampton (1867 - 1870). The cemetery is located south of Lillian off Farm Road 917. Among the prominent settlers of this community buried here are members of the Casstevens, Ball, Angel, Anderson, Gidley, Goode, Smith, Shaw, and Withers families. Many of their descendants still live in the Mansfield area.
