He ranged cattle in the Fort Macleod district in 1877, and was said to have some knowledge of medicine. He lived in Fort Macleod for many years, then moved to Pincher Creek and later to the United States where he died in 1920. There is no record of marriage. Kean, John John Kean came to the Fort Macleod district in 1879 to build sawmills for the government. One of the earliest was Mountain Mill. Costales Costales was a famous dealer, auctioneer, cataloger and philatelic advisor of and about stamps of the United States. He entered the stamp business in 1909 and joined the Scott Stamp and Coin Co. in 1916. From then until 1926, he assisted John N. Luff in editing the Scott catalogs. In 1923, he became the first editor of the new Scott Specialized Catalogue of United States Stamps , continuing until 1926 when he left the company. He was to resume this task for Scott Publications in 1955, and remained its advisor and pricer until 1971. In 1932, Costales founded his own stamp company, and began holding auctions in 1942. Dunbar who was born in Guelph, Ontario in 1849. I learned from the atlas of that township that the family came from Ireland and settled in the Guelph area. I learned also a lot of the founding of this territory when John Galt started with the city development as long ago as 1828-32. John, Samuel, George, Robert, Alexander, Jr. Mrs. Robert Dunbar, Mrs. James Hill, Mrs. George Perkins; all b. in Ireland. Sames, III for this excellent research click on poster to view larger size (opens new window) Not since the days of the noted English highwayman Robin Hood and his merry men has an outlaw captured the imagination of the public, as the hard-riding, straight-shooting bank and train robbers, Frank and Jesse James and their bushwhacking band of outlaws. They are perhaps the most famous robbers of the old West, not excluding Kentucky. In Missouri their birthplace is a state monument, the only one for any outlaw. They gave the nation its first peacetime bank robbery and perfected train robbing, the first was on August 7, 1863. The Liberty, Missouri Tribune, a pro-Union newspaper, carried the following item: Robert S. James graduated from Georgetown College, having completed all requirements of the four-year classical course, on June 29, 1843. His degree was the Bachelor of Arts. According to faculty records, final examination for the senior class was taken on May 24, 1843. Robert is listed as having tied for third place honors in the class. For his accomplishment, he was awarded the opportunity to present an oration at the commencement exercises. All associates who knew him spoke of him as a kindly man of God. So convincing as a Minister one would remember his sermons the rest of their life. He was an educator, gifted orator, and a successful farmer. By the time school ended in the spring of 1841 they were not speaking. Most young men in those days had strong beliefs that a woman should be silent and not express their political thoughts. Zerelda was of the Cole and Lindsay Families, who had been famous for their courageous deeds during the Revolutionary War. She inherited these same traits, and with her education it made her unwilling to comply with his wishes. But three days later before fall 1841, the desire and love for Zerelda was too strong, Robert proposed to her. Robert and Zerelda were married December 28, 1841 at the home of Uncle Judge James Madison Lindsay, in Stamping Ground, Kentucky. The house is still standing and presently owned by Marguerite Sprague on Locust Fork Pike, Scott County.

Brooksdale MapleWood Early records suggest that the hamlet of Maplewood was founded in 1870 when Angus Kerr bought a quarter of an acre of the corner from John H. Brown. Shortly thereafter, (1874) a post office and store ws located at the site. The list of early postmasters include Chistopher Bean, Samuel McKay and Donald McIntosh. The post office closed on 1916 when rural mail delivery began. By 1881 John Brown had sold another half acre to be used for a school and grounds. Apparently there had been a log school on the northwest corner even before this. By 1876 a Methodist Church had been built on the north side of the road, right beside the old log school. Maplewood was also famous for its blacksmiths shop. It had been established in the 1870's by the McKenzies and from 1908 until 1962 it was operated by the Cormack family. The Present store dates back to the 1980's when the original building burned.

Browne LLD Chaplain This marriage was ) Thomas Beswick (Sir Godfrey Webster) solemnized between us) Mary Peck In the presence of ) Samuel Yates of Launceston his x mark ) William Jones of Launceston Recording the name of the ship (Sir Godfrey Webster) on which a convict was transported was normal practice. It served to keep official record of their identity and location: Thomas was still a convict for another two years although he would have been on `ticket of leave' for several years already. He was living in Launceston, probably in Bathurst St., and working as a shoemaker, or `cordwainer', as he was called in a mortgage document the previous year.
