Watch for the sign on the right-hand side. If you get to Mowat Rd. go back about one hundred meters. The older part of the cemetery is steeply wooded while the new area is relatively flat. There is comprehensive directory and map at the top of the first hill on entering the cemetery. On April 13,1913 the City of Enderby purchased this property, a total of 8.36 acres, from G.L. Williams. Three acres were cleared and the plots mapped. The first person buried here is Andrew Glen, whose property was to the north and west of the cemetery. For many years the city purchased barrels of water for $1.00 each to water the grounds. The undeveloped southern section of the cemetery was cleared in 1962 and is now commonly known as the new site. In 1991 city water was brought to the property and an ad hoc cemetery committee was formed to enhance the grounds. | |
