EAF Author: Edward Payson Roe (1838-1888)
Works in the Collection Manuscript Materials Biographies Other Resources Edward Payson Roe was born in New York. Educated at that state's Union Theological Seminary, he served as a chaplain in the Civil War. After the war, Roe pastored a Presbyterian church until 1874, when he retired to devote his time to writing. Roe is remembered for popular novels of a slightly religious nature.
