Sanjay Banerjee is the Cockrell Family Regents Chair Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director, Microelectronics Research Center, at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1979, 1981 and 1983 respectively, all in electrical engineering. He worked as a Member of the Technical Staff, Corporate Research, Development and Engineering at Texas Instruments Incorporated from 1983-1987. Prof. Banerjee's recent awards include the ECS Callinan Award, 2003, IEEE Millennium Medal, 2000 and SRC Inventor Recognition Award, 2000. He is a Fellow of IEEE, Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE Electron Devices Society, and was the General Chair of the IEEE Device Research Conference, 2002. He is currently active in the areas of ultra high vacuum and remote plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition for silicon-germanium-carbon heterostructure MOSFETs and nanostructures. He is also interested in the areas of ultra-shallow junction technology and semiconductor device modeling. Prof. Banerjee's integrated circuit devices course provides a solid foundation for NTU/Walden students who want to work in the areas of integrated circuit design or semiconductor physics.

ROSODA: Return of SODA
Dear, dear fans. Your patience is herewith rewarded. But how to reward the doctors at UCSF Medical Center, to whom I owe these last few borrowed leap-seconds? Medicaid tried with $300,000+ but let's not mention cash and health in the same breath. There's no value one can place on avoiding death; except perhaps in my own case where my actuarial tables indicate a negative dollar ROI (Return On Investment). As Mae West used to say, I feel like a new man (as in "a hard man nowadays is good to find") back straddling the saddle again. Not quite $billion bionically revamped, but with an embedded Pace Maker programmed to keep my ticker at 60 ticks/minute. Sodden thought, perhaps it was programmed by one of my failed C++ students? Your views on embedded C++ in a life-death situation are invited. BTW Bjarne Stroustrup, the "onlie begeter," has moved West to the academic life of one of those oil-rich Texan campi. Farewell to what Dr Spooner called Jew Nersey (actually related to me by the Rev Sharpton) Let me not bore you with a gruesome, stitch-by-stitch medical saga. Suffice it to say that my least favourite movie title is "My Left Foot." My pet cliche is "Curse this Gammy Leg" (beware of the effete "Gamey"). And that my pending Oratorio, scored by fellow scouser David Ellis, is called "Toeless in a Gaza Strip Club."

Abstract
This paper introduces a concept of the ''demoscene'' phenomenon arising mainly among the lines of students who share interest in computer graphics and multimedia creations. The paper discusses the tight relationship between realtime visualization techniques and the subject of our focus which will be the so-called demos and intros . These are together the most attractive production type among the respective categories of creations the demoscene produces and also the ones most dependent on the methods introduced in the field of computer graphics - conceptual, mathematic or algorithmic. The authors further present their own work in this area with emphasis on describing some of the more interesting techniques they have invented or adapted for the sake of creating their own demos and intros.
KEYWORDS: realtime, rendering, demoscene
