Henry, Jr., Petty Officer Henry received a Naval Commendation for saving the life of one of his shipmates who, had it not been for Petty Officer Henry's quick action, would have been tossed overboard and crushed between the ship and the gangplank. After 4 years with the Navy, Henry returned to school and earned a BS degree in Business and Commerce from Knoxville College. He then served for another 4 years with the US. Army National Guard, where he served as 1st Platoon Sgt. and Chief of Survey. During this period he was recognized as Soldier of the Year. In 1988, Henry served in a voluntary capacity with the Tennessee Defense Force as Captain assigned to the 304th Infantry Battalion, and served there until he resigned his commission in 1991. Henry states that people don't fully grasp that in joining the military, a person is saying, "I'm willing to die for my country." This is true even in times when there is no open conflict occurring. He remembers that on his first cruise in the Mediterranean five pilots lost their lives during training exercises. Members of the armed forces train daily, live for extended periods away from their families on foreign soil, and face the ultimate sacrifice of death daily. During his free time Marion can be found playing golf or working out. If the outside temperature is 50 degrees or above, chances are good he will be on somebody's golf course.

Alexander Park Challenge A developer completing a single-family residential community in Hummelstown donated three acres of land to the borough for the creation of recreational space for the community and other borough residents. Solution As the borough's retained engineer, HRG designed a community park that included a basketball court, picnic pavilion, and playground. In the future, the borough will connect this park to a pedestrian path and trail system planned to route around and through nearby neighborhoods along Swatara Creek. Special features in the design integrated the character of the community into the facility HRG's landscape architects offer creative and distinctive recreational facility designs tailored to the unique identity of each community. Here in Hummelstown, we reflected the borough's architectural style and memorialized its talented youth to make this park reflect the borough's heritage and its residents. For example, a concrete sign and seat wall at the entrance of the park uses architectural surface treatment to replicate the gray field stone that appears throughout the neighborhood. In addition, a sports motif in the engraved bricks that pave the park honor and memorialize the sports achievements of Hummelstown's young people.
