CELEBRATE WOMEN'S HISTORY CONNECTING TO OUR DATABASES FROM YOUR HOME COMPUTER! Now you can connect to our online subscription databases, such as EBSCO and InfoTrac from your own home computer with your college username and password (the same as you use to access your campus email account). Be patient as our campus computer folks iron out some remaining issues, but you should be able to connect right away to the main database vendors, using a special login screen. Access to individual databases directly is still under construction, however. Remote access to the subscription databases on our Library web pages is permitted through campus authentication of students, faculty and staff only. Guests and community patrons can access the databases on site only. INFORMATION LITERACY TO BE ASSESSED ON CAMPUS As a part of a General Education assessment plan for SUNY campuses, student learning outcomes in several subject areas will be measured. In particular, Information Management, which is defined as a group of computer and library research skills, will be evaluated through an appraisal of a representative sampling of student research work. We will attempt to measure the extent to which our students have met a standard of competence set by us and by SUNY.

  • Sub-Series: Gargoyle Recordings Introduction As of June, 1995, this finding aid is preliminary, designed to capture as much information as possible about the 11 cubic foot collection as it now exists. With the exception of one videotape cassette, this collection consists entirely of audiotape recordings. Roughly half are recorded in reel-to-reel magnetic audiotape format. These reels appear fragile and will have to be reformatted to cassette format to be used by researchers. Additionally, service copies of all of the recordings should be made before they are made available for general use. Production of the final finding aid for this collection is dependent upon reformatting and creating service copies of these recordings. Cavalieri has recently expressed her interest in donating additional personal papers and materials related to her writing, including manuscripts of her plays. The collection was donated by Grace Cavalieri in December of 1989 as part of the Washington Writer's Archive. Cavalieri has since donated copies of her books of poetry as they are published. These published volumes of Cavalieri's poetry, along with the volume of the WPFW Poets Anthology, which she edited, are shelved in the Department of Special Collections stacks. While the donor transferred all her psysical rights to the collection materials upon their donation, she does retain certain literary property rights to the materials. The audiotapes in this collection consist mainly of recordings of arts and literature-oriented radio programs which were produced by Cavalieri for the Washington, D.C. non-commericial radio station WPFW-FM 89.3 between 1975 and 1989. The largest portion of these tapes were recorded between 1977 and 1986.
