67. The Boone County Ancestors Of Dr. Michael Cole
William C. (Bill) HUNT (18701936); Mary C. (Mollie) HUNT (1871-1961), Mary Ann (JOHNSON) HENSLEY, was born in 1839 in (probably Cannon County)

Boone County Ancestors
of Dr. Michael Cole
Michael Steven Cole, M.D. , was born in Harrison, Boone County, Arkansas, on 28 April 1955. He is descended from 25 people who have called Boone County their home.
Dr. Cole's earliest ancestor to move into Boone (then part of Carroll) County, Arkansas, was Felix Grundy HAWKINS , who homesteaded 116.75 acres in in the area which is now the Harrison Industrial Park. Family tradition holds that he was a full-blooded Cherokee. Born in Tennessee about 1820, he married Parellee J. HARP about 1846. Her parents were William Watson HARP, who died in January 1850 in White County, Tennessee, and Rhoda -. Felix and Parellee's children were Rhoda C. (1847-1870's), wife of Laban PATTON; and James Kinner HAWKINS. Felix had a son Joseph Layfayette (Joe) HAWKINS, who was possibly the son of second wife Susan Jane RUTLEDGE(?). Felix died in January 1891 and is buried at Grubb Springs Cemetery.
James Kinner HAWKINS was born about 1849 in White County, Tennessee. He married Emily Jane COWAN on 19 March 1871 in Boone County, Arkansas. They lived about a mile southwest of the present Boone County Airport. Kinner died in 1885, leaving his widow with four children: Paralee Ann Elimira Jane (1872-1945), wife of Isaiah David (I. D.) LAMB; William Lewis HAWKINS (1873-1939); Samantha Catherine Caroline Caldona Belle (Dona) HAWKINS; and James Felix Eli HAWKINS (1879-1957).

KERR FAMILY CHRONICLES
Appendix 6B. AMERICAN McREYNOLDS FAMILIES
JOHN McREYNOLDS AMERICAN DESCENDENTS: As described in the chapter, Elizabeth Shepherd McReynolds , the second wife of John McReynolds (1665-1760) emigrated to the United States with their four surviving children in 1738. The trip across the Atlantic apparently took six weeks, the provisions became exhausted and the passengers faced starvation. Fortunately another ship hove into sight and gave them assistance. Elizabeth and her children settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She died at an old age in the home of her son James in Appomattox County, Virginia. Her husband John remained in Ireland and lived with his children by his first wife. The genealogy of the descendants of Elizabeth Shepherd McReynolds has been painstakingly compiled. It is much too large to be repeated here and so we produce only a brief summary of the first few generations. The reader who wishes to obtain more information is referred to ``McReynolds. A Noble Clan'' written by William Howard McReynolds (1980) and available through the LDS library system. The following is largely taken from that reference. CHILDREN OF JOHN AND ELIZABETH McREYNOLDS: Joseph McReynolds was born in 1715 in Killyman near Dungannon. He married a Sarah Dixon in 1736. Quaker records show that Joseph was received into the Nottingham Monthly meeting of Nov.27, 1737, on a certificate dated Feb.27, 1737, from Grange Meeting, Ireland. He married a Sarah Dixon in 1736. With his mother Joseph and Sarah emigrated to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1738. In 1753 they moved to Bedford County, Virginia, and then in 1770 to Washington County, Virginia. Joseph and Sarah had seven sons and two daughters listed below. They were quite religious and belonged to the Presbyterian Church. Joseph died in 1805 at the home of his son Samuel in Bledsoe County, Tennessee.

For an example of the large numbers of Pueblo women involved, see "Named Artists on IAF Collection Pottery," IAF Potters folder, Indian Arts Fund (IAF) papers, Indian Arts and Research Center, Santa Fe, New Mexico. The list contains few men. Of those included, most painted designs on their wives' pottery, as Julian Martinez did. See also Edwin L. Wade and Katherin L.
