the east.

Saturday, September 10, 2005 Hamburg, Ashley County, Arkansas Home Local News Obituaries Sports/Outdoors ... Health Ashley County History Mount Olive Baptist Church Tombstones Updated June 19, 2003 What follows below is a complete list of tombstones in the Mount Olive Baptist Church located northeast of Hamburg near the Berea community. While this list is complete as of the date above, there are many more graves in the cemetery which are not marked. Also, many of the graves were orginally marked by cedar trees which were blown down or else cut in the 1950s. The church and cemetery are located 12.7 miles northeast of the intersection of U. S. Highways 82 and 425 in Hamburg. To reach the cemetery, go 2.2 miles east of Hamburg on Highway 82, then turn northeast on Ashley Road 70 (Promise Land Road) and continue with no turns for 10.5 miles. The church and cemetery are located at N 33, 22.339, W 91 40.954. The listing below began with the tombstone listings compiled by the Col. Francis Vivian Brooking chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in the 1960s. This revision includes many new burials since the DAR list was compiled and also corrects a few errors. The original typescript for the tombstone listings can be found in the genealogy section of the Ashley County Library in Hamburg. The Ashley County Library also has Anne Etheridge Veazey's typescript of the Mount Olive Baptist Church Records, 1859- 1927, Ashley County Arkansas.
