ARCHIVES Web CityBeat Best of Cincinnati for Positively Yeah Yeah Yeah: New Tunes Positively Yeah Yeah Yeah: New Tunes Michael Jackson By John M. James
While it's not surprising that Michael Jackson feels connected to outer space and desires to mingle with the intergalactic, did you know that a long list of Rock and Pop royalty share this fascination with aliens and many claim to have experienced a close encounter of the third kind? Michael C. Luckman, director of the New York Center for Extraterrestrial Research, has just released a new book in conjunction with VH-1 and Pocket Books that spills the beans on the bizarre connection between pop music and cosmic serendipity. Entitled Alien Rock , the result is a well-researched collection of claims by Rock stars of UFO sightings, abductions and creative assistance through alien intervention. Perhaps Elvis Presley 's talent was truly from the cosmos, as an eerie blue light in the skies is said to have hovered over the place of his birth and, as he explained to Wanda Jackson in taped telephone conversations, he is "not of this world." I can understand the alien abduction claims of Jerry Garcia Nina Hagen Rick Wakeman Dave Davies and Cat Stevens ... but

biography
Stunning redhead Arlene Dahl was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in August 1928 (some sources list 1924 as her year of birth). Early on, Dahl cultivated an interest in acting, and after completing high school she supported herself by working as a department store model. By the mid 1940s, she had made her way to Broadway, and in 1946 she signed a contract with Warner Bros. Her tenure at Warners was short-lived, with her only role coming in the 1947 release My Wild Irish Rose . However, the following year she went to MGM, where she was soon cast in such films as A Southern Yankee (1948; with Red Skelton and Brian Donlevy ) and No Questions Asked (1951; with Barry Sullivan).

Married six times, Arlene Dahl's most famous husbands were the first two: Lex Barker (1951-1952) and Fernando Lamas (1954-1960). Dahl's marriages have produced three children, including actor Lorenzo Lamas.
