Wendy Standish has been kind enough to give me permission to include her transcription of a book of marriages she has found. These records were originally posted to the Niagara List and are now presented here for the benefit of anyone who may have missed the posting there. I don't have a copy of the book itself, so if you have questions could you please contact Wendy, at the email address below. Bill. I've come into possession of a book, purchased at a library book sale, which is entitled "St. George's Parish Church, St. Catharines. Jubilee Celebration and Historic and Centenary Review" edited by Rev. Robert Ker, Rector. The Jubilee celebration took place from Sunday, Dec. 6, 1891 to Tues., Dec. 8, 1891. The souvenir book was published, I believe, in 1892. It gives a great deal of the history of the church itself, as well as the actual events of the Jubilee celebration. Of particular interest are the marriages of 1792 to 1830 from St. Mark's Church Register with Rev. Robert Addison . The other is the Register of Marriages of St. George's Church, St. Catharines from 1840 to 1892. Each entry has the bride and groom's names, the town of residence of each, the witnesses and the minister performing the wedding. Wendy Standish "St. George's Parish Church, St. Catharines. Jubilee Celebration and Historic and Centenary Review." Edited by Rev. Robert Ker, Rector

OLD CATHOLIC CEMETERY
Town of Greenwood
This Cemetery is located on Cemetery Road. Many of the stones have fallen and broken. When asked about the history of the cemetery it was stated that a Catholic Church stood beside the cemetery and several of the parish were dying due to the plague. It was decided to burn the church to rid it of the rats that were carrying the disease. From the dates you can see some families lost several members within days of each other. DONNA ALLEN
