None of the following information, partial or in total, may be used by any person(s) or organization, electronically or otherwise, for the purpose of profiteering. All copies and "links" to this page must contain this location reference as its source.
We tried to record all of the tombstone inscriptions that we were able to decipher (some have weathered too badly), and present them here, for your benefit.
If you have any information that may help complete the listings below, such as missing dates and/or persons buried there without markers, please send me E-Mail. Your contributions will be acknowledged here on this page.
Anyone wishing to not have family names listed on these pages, please send E-Mail, and those names will be removed immediately!
Division 9 Monongahela is at the lower left of the Monongahela Cemetery Map . It seems redundant to call this section Division 9 Monongahela, but there is a method. Several parishes also have areas in Monongahela Cemetery, and there are duplicate division numbers. Division 9 Monongahela is named that way to differentiate it from Division 9 St. Joseph.

Delaware County, NY Genealogy and History Site transcribed by Les and Dorothy Howland, California please wait while 243K loads The following records are courtesy of the Roxbury Library Associations History Room . Hard Copies of such records are available for viewing and duplication during normal library hours. This compilation is from the notebooks of Amy Gavette and was done in the 1960s . It was manually typed on typing paper. Needless to say some of it is faded and coping it is difficult. If dates don't match you may have to go to the Roxbury Library and see the originals, they too are starting to fade. This is not a public library, they run on support from their patrons and the History room is run by donations, and for such a small room it is packed full of information on the town of Roxbury and some Delaware county information. Biographical Sketch
Enit Zerner Kaufman (1908?-1961) was born near Vienna, where she later studied art. Her primary interest was portraiture, and she soon created a name for herself painting prominent Europeans, including Albert Sarraut and Georges Duhamel, among others. Her work was featured in several successful exhibitions in Paris, where her skillful paintings of women and children also attracted attention. Her life and career were changed dramatically by the onset of World War II, and she fled the turbulence of Europe for an uncertain future in New York City in 1939, along with her husband Edward, a lawyer. Kaufman worked with great determination in the United States to resume her interrupted career and achieved some success, teaching art and working to rebuild her reputation as a portraitist. As had been the case in Europe, many of her subjects were prominent figures in government, education, and the arts. She had the distinction of painting four American Presidents, including Herbert Hoover, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, and Dwight D. Eisenhower. Her work was featured in a number of exhibitions in the 1940s and 1950s, including an exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, and another at the New York Historical Society.
