Carroll Hill Cemetery - Fairfax, Vermont
Carroll Hill Cemetery is located in Buck Hollow and is also at times referred to as the Orton Cemetery. Donna Meunier did a complete survey of this cemetery in 1996, including the drawing of a map so that the location of each stone would be known. A copy of this map is located in the Fairfax Town Clerk's Office in Fairfax, Vermont. Names were correlated by Henry Raymond with The Fairfax Town Records for places of birth and death.

CANE CREEK MISSIONARY BAPTIST CEMETERY
By W. D. Floyd This cemetery is in the Lake Lure area in the western part of Rutherford County, NC. To get to it out of Rutherfordton, NC just take highway US64-74A for about fiften miles or until you come to the intersection where NC9 turns off to the south, the lake will be visible on your right. The church and cemetery is less than a half mile out NC9 on the left. I was there August 13, 1997 and I started the audit in the southeast corner of the cemetery

MARVIN GAER Marvin Delbert Gaer, son of Marvin Manley Gaer and Dolly Malinda (Bohlman) Gaer of Kirkman and Bernyce Nadine (Will) Gaer, daughter of Ernest F. Will and Evelyn (Guss) Will of Irwin, moved from Missouri to Manning in 1962, where he became employed as a police officer. They have two daughters, Patricia (Mrs. John Doyel) of Rt. 1, Manning, and Jerri (Mrs. James Muhlbauer) of Rt. 2, Manning. The family also included five grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan and Heath Doyel and Melinda and Melissa Muhlbauer. I CAN REMEMBER- The Bronco sales held three or four times a year at the old Milwaukee Railroad stockyards, located on Center Street where the school buses are now kept. Two-year-olds from Cheyenne, Wyoming were brought in, and we farmers would buy them for $15 to $20 each. We'd have to break them before we could use them. This was in the 1910-1920 period. -Ed Stuhr Continued from page 293 ALBERT GENZEN

This chart courtesy of Marvin Beatty. It is a very extensive list of Bobbitts. Marvin's research took place before John W. Bobbitt's book was published and before computers and the Internet became popular. Marvin and John were in contact with one another in the 1970's. Notes and ideas were exchanged. There is one discrepancy you will find in this chart regarding the following person: 14. ii. JOHN RICHARD BOBBITT, b. 1726, Prince Edward County Virginia; d. 1791, Warren County, North Carolina. The parents of John Richard Bobbitt are listed as Lewis Bobbitt b. 1704 and Elizabeth Moore. This is not true. All other research is true. In order to insure historical integrity, the discrepancy will not be changed. The researcher should deal with it accordingly. ABSOLOM(4) OF KNOX CO., TN 1827-1861 Absolom, the last born son of Richard Chenoweth and his wife, Ellen Hammer, was born on June 27, 1827 in Knox Co., TN. Richard was an astonishing 72 years old. It is apparent that his wife Ellen, just half Richard's age, did wonders for his vitality. Absolom is not mentioned in Richard's will, written 6 years before his birth. Accordingly, for this reason and the age of Richard, Richard and Shirley Harris were reluctant to list him as a son and included his line in the unknown section of their book. But Absolom is living with Ellen in the 1850 Census. There is an under 5 age son with Ellen in the 1830 census just after Richard died. Absolom was appointed the administrator of Richard's will in 1859 and upon his death two years later was replaced by his brother, Richard, Jr. Absolom married Absolom Chenoweth on September 04, 1845 in Knox Co., TN. He and Sarah had 7 children before his untimely death 16 years later at the age of 34. His widow, Martha remarried the following year to J.C. Dunn on March 22, 1862

HISTORY and LOCATION The Buffalo Gap Cemetery is the oldest public cemetery in Taylor County, used by residents of Buffalo Gap even before the earliest known headstones were erected in 1877. The Oldest marked grave is that of Susannah E. Gamble 1859 - 1878 In the older section of the ten-acre plot (Sec. 8A) there are more than 146 graves, many of Civil War Veterans and pioneer citizens of Taylor County. Because of the many unmarked graves, the Cemetery Association has decided that there can be no more burials in this section of the cemetery. There is too much danger of disturbing old graves. Official Texas Historical Marker – 1968 “November 22, 1884) $100.00 was paid to J. L. Stephenson and his wife, Mrs. L. H. Stephenson, by: Albert Sowell, W. J. Sowell, W. C. Wylie, and T. C.
