An innovative approach to recent developments Published online first All articles are published electronically ahead of print with the definite citation line. Thus, an article will be available online shortly after the author's approval to print. Aims and Scope In the past decade research into skin pharmacology has developed dramatically with new and promising drugs and therapeutic concepts being introduced regularly. Recent examples include immunosuppressive topicals, and new strategies in the therapy of malignant melanoma and wound healing. New concepts have also been developed in traditional areas of skin therapy and skin care which have led to discussions of issues such as ‘cosmeceuticals’ in the United States, ‘quasi-drugs’ in Japan, and the 6th Amendment of the Cosmetic Regulation in the European Union. There are many open questions which reflect the importance of the subject and the need for a new international scientific forum where they can be discussed in extenso. Dermatologists, pharmaceutical chemists, pharmacologists, toxicologists, and others interested in the subject are invited to contribute to this exciting project and to submit their best research work for publication. DFG Research Center for Molecular Physiology of the Brain
The human brain is probably the most complex structure that nature ever produced. 100 billion neurons and 10 times as many glia cells build up an intricate network that accomplishes extraordinary tasks, such as sensation, learning and memory. All these functions are in the last instance conducted by molecules. A modern molecular physiology investigates the molecules' function and their role in the context of the brains' network systems. The application of insights from this research field to the therapy and diagnostic of neuronal diseases is one of the great challenges of this century. The CMPB pursues this goal with an interdisciplinary research program.

Subject Sites Blackwell Plant Science
Physiologia Plantarum An International Journal for Plant Biology Published on behalf of the Scandinavian Society for Plant Physiology Edited by: 2004: 31/138 (Plant Sciences) Impact Factor: The aim of Physiologia Plantarum is to publish original research that advances our understanding of the primary physiological and molecular mechanisms governing plant development, growth and productivity. The journal therefore welcomes papers on aspects of experimental plant biology ranging from molecular and cell biology, biochemistry and biophysics, to ecophysiology, thereby maintaining contact among the different organizational levels of plant biology. Physiolo gia Plantarum also publishes Minireviews and Technical focus papers, with the aim of providing a forum for the exchange of information on recent breakthroughs and technical advances. Regular manuscripts Regular papers should present original hypothesis-driven research in one of the five subject areas covered by the journal (Biochemistry and metabolism; Ecophysiology, stress and adaptation; Uptake, transport and assimilation; Development, growth and differentiation; Photobiology and photosynthesis). The experiments described should address questions pertinent to the research topic and the outcomes should advance our understanding of the processes being studied, not simply repeat known results in a different species.
