of Texas, Inc.
Ecology Action is Austin Ninth Street and IH-35 (on the southbound access road). Materials can be dropped off 24 hours a day. We accept: Paper and Cardboard Aluminum Cans and Foil Tin Cans Metal Plastic (#1 and #2) Glass Bottles and Jars Cardboard Toner Cartridges Cellular Telephones Computer Equipment
Want to Recycle More Than at Curbside?
As those who have been to our recycling center know, we recycle a lot of different materials here at Ecology Action. In addition to the materials you can recycle at the curbside through the City, we take a number of materials, and sizes and quantities of materials that the city does not. First of all, we take paper. And not just newspaper, any type of paper except waxed paper (such as paper orange juice cartons). This means phone books, heavy cardstock, and packing paper (please fold it if you can). And you can bring us as much as you can haul. Cardboard is another big one. Just bring it on down. We would like you to flatten the boxes: that saves us a LOT of work. We can recycle #1 and #2 plastic of any type, except for bags.

Welcome!
Research and teaching in the Department of Systems Ecology at Stockholm University focuses on the study of ecosystems and on sustainable use of natural resources
We study both basic and applied ecological problems, with an emphasis on coastal and marine ecosystems and coupled social-ecological systems.
Research
We have a long tradition of research on the Baltic Sea and its drainage basin. The Department has been involved in the development of the interdisciplinary field of ecological economics, and we perform research in many developing countries, mostly in the tropics. We view humanity as an integral part of ecosystems, and apply a systems perspective in our analyses of how ecosystems are used and abused by humans and on the interplay between societal development and the life-supporting environment.
The Department provides a stimulating research environment and there is close collaboration with the Centre for Transdisciplinary Environmental Research (CTM), the

This site is intended to explore the relationship between religion and the environment, between creator and creation. This area of religious study is perhaps esoteric in nature, but is applicable to all people, even for those who are not religious. It's scope is primarily academic, and not devotional, and is intended to serve as an introduction to the study of religion and its environmental implications.
Humans have undeniably and boldly placed themselves and all other life in ecological crisis. We have not only failed to preserve the diversity of species that inhabit the earth, but we have failed to recognize the value of diversity that is implied in biology as being inherently valuable within our own species. We have created ghettos with our "isms" and placed a value of intolerance among relgions, genders, races, economic and social classes, and sexual orientation.

    Salt Marsh Restoration Project
Salt marsh at mid-tide. Noel Shore, Nova Scotia.
Salt marshes are amongst the most biologically productive ecosystems in the world (similar to rainforests and tropical mangrove forests). Found in protected bays and estuaries, and along the shores of tidal rivers, salt marshes serve as a transition zone between the land and sea.
Recognizable for their characteristic plants, cordgrass in the lower marsh and salt meadow hay in the high marsh, salt marshes have the appearance of a grassy meadow complete with creeks and ponds (pannes). The daily ebb and flood of the tide has a significant influence on the form and function of the salt marsh and is crucial to its health. Salt Marsh Home Why Are Salt Marshes Important?
