    Cryobiology Research
Cryobiology research is being undertaken in three key areas:
    • The development of cryopreservation methods for fish eggs and embryos. This work involves the exploration of the structural and physiological factors restricting cryoprotectant modification of eggs/embryos, the nature of chill sensitivity in fish embryos and the development of protocols for either controlled slow cooling or vitrification as a route to successful cryopreservation. Optimisation of cryopreservation of modified vertebrate cell lines, including genetically modified strains, to retain high levels of viability; and to explore the use of genetic markers to enable rapid assessment of viability following recovery from storage in liquid nitrogen.

Medical Cryobiology Unit
The medical cryobiology unit carries out research on basic mammalian cryobiology and applies that knowledge to the development of preservation techniques for cells, tissues and organs of medical interest. Current areas of study include the identification of the factors that, in general, make it more difficult to cryopreserve tissues than cells, and organs than tissues. Specific areas of study include mechanisms and patterns of ice crystallisation in tissues, the role of thermal stress particularly in aqueous glasses, effects on cell adhesion and the use of dielectric heating. The tissues currently studied include corneas, arteries, heart valves, cartilage and bone. The Unit houses the Editorial Office of the journal CRYOBIOLOGY. The research is financed by the UK research councils, the European Community, charities and commercial sources. Further information: For further information, please contact:

50. Cryobiology And Cryonics: Suspending Life Until A Better One Arrives
cryobiology is the art of preserving biological material. Can it one day be reliable for humans?
http://author.senescence.info/thoughts/cryonics.html
Cryobiology and Cryonics
Cryobiology is the science that studies the preservation of biological materials by cooling them to cryogenic temperatures. So promising is cryopreservation that many sign up to be frozen after death in hope they can be brought back to life. Herein, I review the current state of the technology and its flaws. Key words: bioethics, cryostasis, ethics, extropian, posthuman, transhuman, vitrification Cryopreservating humans is already done invented Cryobiology derives from immortalism, the dream of immortality. Being immortality scientifically impossible by today's knowledge, scientists turn themselves for this kind of technology that might allow one to wait until he can live, theoretically speaking, forever. The major present flaw of cryopreservation is that we might lose our individuality really matters order this out standard brains I will be another person. Even if they can calculate all of the previous positions and connections of the dead neurons and put some ones back into me, this person will be exactly like me but not me; I explain the reasons in another article Anyway, I prefer to study
