Webpage of the Molecular Biophysics group at Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. Our research focuses on single biomolecules and carbon nanotubes. Keywords: molecular electronics, nanotechnology, Cees Dekker, moleculaire biofysica, biofysica. Welcome to the homepage of Molecular Biophysics (MB), one of the research groups in the department of Applied Physics of Delft University of Technology. MB is linked with DIMES, the Delft Institute for Microelectronics and Submicrontechnology and is financially supported by FOM, the Dutch foundation of fundamental research of matter. The group is led by professor Cees Dekker, who recently split off from the Quantum Transport group together with his coworkers. Most of our current work is still related to quantum transport in mesoscopic, confined structures like carbon nanotubes and DNA molecules. However, new themes involving single biomolecules will be explored in the near future. Since we are starting up many new projects we have a number of vacancies, that can be found in 'Open positions'. Undergraduate students can click on 'Afstudeerprojekten' to learn more about undergraduate projects.

These pages were written in order to help bring to light issues in Thermal Physics. If you are new to thermalphysics.org, you should begin by reading the warning, followed by the essays on Planck, the Little Heat Engine, the Liquid Photosphere and the COBE and MAP satellites. If you are interested in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), this site contains information on the construction of the world's premier MRI scanner. The thermal natures of MRI and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) will eventually be discussed. Thermalphysics.org contains numerous images and links to other web sites, including links to NASA's COBE, MAP and SOHO satellites.
