    Redundant bridge
BMC Biochemistry The 'atypical' Kazal domain, EPI1a, of Phytophthora infestans inhibits the serine protease subtilisin A, indicating that the disulfide bridge - one of three - of typical Kazal domains that is missing in EPI1a, is not essential for reactivity and stability.
    Specific inhibitors for V-ATPase
BMC Biochemistry Archazolid A and B as well as apicularens A and B, two classes of antibiotic macrolactones derived from different myxobacterial species, specifically inhibit V-ATPase, having no affect on the activity of mitochondrial F-ATPase or Na+/K+-ATPase.
