By Kelli J. Hewson Each year thousands of Canadian figure skating fans crowd ice arenas from Halifax to Vancouver to see Stars on Ice , the world’s most celebrated skating tour. This year’s tour marked the end of an era. Fans said say good-bye to two of their favorites, 1993 World pairs champions Isabelle Brasseur and Lloyd Eisler. After nearly ten years of touring Brasseur and Eisler decided to hang up their skates and spend more time with their families. They were joined in their farewell across Canada by a cast including Olympic champions Jamie Sale and David Pelletier and Elena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze. The show was choreographed by Olympic ice dance champion Christopher Dean who chose time as the show’s theme. He created several transition pieces to keep continuity between solo performances. The final result was a theatrical adventure on ice. Grand Canyon Suite finishing in a circle at the far end of the rink where each member of the ensemble was introduced. As the final skater’s name was announced a man wearing a grey t-shirt, a pair of grey pants with suspenders, and a black derby hat stepped out from the tunnel. The crowd went wild. The skater was none other than Canada’s very own four-time World champion Kurt Browning. He skated to

Baba Brooks: Baba started skating at the age of two, as she was learning to walk. She's been state, regional and U.S. champion in every style of roller skating. While the others leave the ice only while executing jumps in this Hershey-bound spectacle, Yagudin spends an entire routine aloft. Lowered from above enveloped in a long white silk shroud and bathed in cold blue light, he performs an aerial ballet worthy of the Cirque du Soleil, perfectly attuned to the exotic strains of Peter Gabriel's "Passion" from "The Last Temptation of Christ" soundtrack. In another show-stopper, Yagudin celebrates what is fast becoming a lost art in figure-skating competition: fancy footwork.
