The Phantoms jumped ahead early with two goals in the first period before Blake Sloan cut the lead to 2-1 early in the second period. Philadelphia responded with three goals later in the frame, however, to take control of the game.
First, John Slaney scored on the power play on a slap shot from the top of the circle that went just underneath the crossbar at 4:09 to make it 3-1. Later, Sharp went around Griffins defenseman Brett Lebda one-on-one and his quick wrist shot found the back of the net at 18:08.
Tony Voce
’s second goal in as many nights just 41 seconds later made it a 5-1 game, as he was left alone at the side of the net and was spotted by Ryan Ready
Sharp capped the scoring with a goal 18 seconds into the third period as the Phantoms cruised to their fourth straight victory and fifth in a row on the road.
