2001 Inductees

Graham Reid During his eleven-year hockey career, Graham Reid rose to great heights as an Australian goalkeeper. A resident of Queanbeyan for many years, Graham represented the ACT from 1972 to 1980. In the period from 1970-80, Graham represented Australia on numerous occasions. He played in the World Cup in 1971, and represented Australia at the Olympics in 1972 and 1976. Graham was also selected to compete in the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Not only was Graham an adept goalkeeper, he was a formidable centre forward when he played in club level matches. Graham’s ability on the field was recognised in 1970 when he was awarded the prestigious Brophy Medal providing further recognition of an athlete of whom the ACT region can be very proud.

Memorial Cup crown
May 27, 2004
Justin Keller scored the winning goal at 13:38 of the third period as the host Kelowna Rockets earned their first Memorial Cup title with a 2-1 win over the Gatineau Olympiques Sunday. Keller's goal broke a 1-1 tie as he raced down the right side, made a hard move to the net and slipped the puck between the legs of Gatineau goaltender David Tremblay. Randall Gelech had a goal and an assist for the Rockets (4-0), who became the first host team to win the tournament since the Ottawa 67's in 1999. Goaltender Kelly Guard, who only allowed three goals in four games, made 23 saves on his way to tournament Most Valuable Player honors. Guillaume Fournier scored for the Olympiques (3-2) while Tremblay made 26 saves.

SCOTLAND’S dejected under-21 men’s hockey side today face Poland for seventh/eighth place in the European Championship knowing they have been relegated from A Division.
Coach David Stott’s side had chances but failed to convert and hosts Belgium ran out comfortable 6-0 winners yesterday.
Scotland had nine penalty corners and failed to score from any of them while Belgium had eight and scored from four underlining the Scots lack of real firepower.
