May 14: Feeling a Draft Jackson, in fact, never spoke to anyone from Union or even considered applying for the position. What's more, Inside College Hockey has learned that Jackson will be introduced as an assistant coach with an NHL team shortly. Jackson, who won two national championships with Lake State, served as the first head coach of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program and later coached the Guelph Storm in the OHL. He had applied for the Vermont vacancy that was filled by former Union head coach Kevin Sneddon.

Dance team.
Oh yes, there will be a dance team.
Do they really think this is going to draw fans?
What this has to do with AHL collegians is absolutely nothing, but I had to vent.
Erik Anderson (SLU) is headed to Sheffield UK.
Nick Angell (Minn), who played briefly with Milwaukee, has a tryout in Sweden.
Chris Kelleher (BU) goes from Providence to Krefeld Germany.
Bryan Lundbohm (UND) signed a 2 month contract with a team in Switzerland.
Jeff Maund (OSU) returns from Russia to sign with Lowell.
Gregg Naumenko (UAA), who spent time with Cincy, has a tryout in Russia. bigfish 09-15-2003, 02:27 PM Originally posted by jen This weekend, I heard the two words any hockey fan hates to hear when it comes to the local minor league team. Dance team.

Ryan Sullivan Celebrating a banner season for its student-athletes, Hockey East is proud to identify a record 61 individuals who have qualified for the league's All-Academic Team. Each player achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which he was actively competing. The previous high watermark for total honorees was 51, set in 1999-2000. UMass Lowell led the way with 17 student-athletes above the 3.0 mark, shattering the previous single-team record of 13, set twice before. UML goaltender John Yaros (Bayside, NY), whose 3.66 grade-point-average was tops among Hockey East goalies this season, was named to the Academic All-Star team, identifying the top GPAs by position. Merrimack sophomore Ryan Sullivan (Toronto, ON) was a defenseman on the team for the second straight year, and is the only repeat honoree in that category. He also garnered the honor as 2004-05 Hockey East Top-Scholar Athlete by posting a 3.97 GPA, the second-highest ever for a Hockey East student-athlete since 1991-92, the first year the honor was bestowed. Sullivan is the third W arrior player in four seasons to achieve the highest GP A in Hockey East. Hockey Humanitarian finalist Peter Trovato (North Attleboro, MA) of UMass and Northeastern's Jared Mudryk (Leduc, AB) were the two additions to the list of Distinguished Scholars this season. Student-athletes selected as Distinguished Scholars achieved a 3.0 or better in each semester over four varsity seasons
