Click here to submit your question Tuesday, October 10, 2000 Q: Bill Cornfield of Pittsburgh KOVACEVIC: Morozov made it clear to me in Japan that he was quite unhappy with his playing time in the two games there. He sat on the bench for the entire opener an insult to a player with three NHL seasons under his belt and took about three shifts a period in the second game. Given how hard he has worked to improve his conditioning, and that he has been productive just about every time he's come over the boards, he's making it very difficult for the Penguins not to play him. The question, then, is this: Where should he play? Coach Ivan Hlinka seems to have some special attachment to Josef Beranek, so it seems unlikely that he'd get bumped off the third line. A logical slot might be the left side of the top unit, but Jaromir Jagr seems to have an equally curious attachment to Kip Miller. This much is certain: The franchise can't allow a player of this pedigree to watch games from the bench.

BIOGRAPHY
BORN: Ottawa, Ontario, June 29, 1975.
HEIGHT:
WEIGHT: 184-195 lbs.
UNIFORM #: Carolina ), 29 (Lowell, Manitoba 2003-04, Toronto AHL, Edmonton AHL), 30 ( Vancouver , Manitoba).
CATCHES: Right
JUNIOR TEAM: Kingston OHL.
STYLE:
STRENGTHS: Very experienced. Has the ability to play a spectacular game from time to time, and possesses an excellent glove hand.
WEAKNESSES: Not consistent enough to stick as a long-term NHL backup.
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:
"Could be Canada's World Junior goalie if lockout ends before tournament." (Roy Cummings, The Hockey News Future Watch 1995) "Moss' last name should be Murphy, as in Law. Injuries gave Moss a chance to show his worth last season, but his own injury took it away. Though he lacks consistency, he showed enough last season to prove he's capable of being a solid NHL backup. Only 24, Moss has plenty of time to reach his full potential. Moss is behind Giguere in terms of talent, but he should still make the NHL as a backup relatively soon."

We have a lot of confidence in our visitors and think that they can write a fantastic third edition to this movie. We've provided this page as a chance for you to help us write the script. As you add to the script, please think about what you're writing and only write stuff that will enhance the story. Please refrain from non-Slap Shot 3 writing. CHL Grads Capture Top AHL Award
April 20, 1999 Canadian Hockey League Notebook Three Canadian Hockey League grads were honoured on April 20 as the American Hockey League handed out its hardware for the 1998-99 season. Martin Biron of the Rochester Americans was named the winner of the Baz Bastien Memorial Award as the AHL's Most Outstanding Goaltender. Biron, who played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Beauport Harfangs and Hull Olympiques, had a 2.08 goals against average this season in helping the Americans to a first place finish in the Empire Division. Biron recorded six shutouts this season and recorded a remarkable .930 save percentage. The Beast of New Haven's Shane Willis was selected as the AHL's Top Rookie in 1998-99. This marks the fifteenth time in the past 17 years that a CHL grad has won the Dudley (Red) Garrett Award. Previous winners of this award include Donald Audette, Rene Corbet, and Darryl Sutter. A former Prince Albert Raider and Lethbridge Hurricane, Willis scored 31 goals in his rookie season.

September 30, 2002 A new hockey season has just started, and that's a cue for the next game in EA Sports' NHL series to hit the shelves. The NHL series has always delivered an unparalleled simulation of hockey on the platforms it's been released on, and each year's version is filled with roster updates and gameplay improvements, though little else. With that said, you're not crazy if you think NHL 2003 looks like last year's version at first glance. There are only a few improvements to help distinguish it from NHL 2002, but these changes further increase the realism of what is considered the best hockey simulation on the market. You're not crazy if you think NHL 2003 looks like last year's version at first glance.

September 30, 2002 There was a time when there were a lot more PC hockey games to choose fromwhen you could pick a serious simulation, an action-packed, arcade-style game, or even a text-based strategy game. Yet even a half-dozen years ago, one game stood head and shoulders above all the contenders. That game was EA Sports' NHL Hockey. Skillfully developed north of the border by hockey-crazed Canadians, NHL grew from its humble 2D beginnings to become so dominant in the world of computer hockey that it's now the only way to get a good game of hockey going on your PC. NHL 2003 is the latest edition in this series, and it continues a long-standing tradition by offering just enough in the way of improvements to warrant at least a cursory glance from past customers. If you've never played NHL and consider yourself even a casual hockey or sports fan, you owe it to yourself to get the latest game in one of the finest computer sports franchises of all time. However, if you're a veteran player back for another go, you might want to consider putting away those rose-colored glasses and waiting for the inevitable NHL 2004.

Why did you do such a thing? by Tyler McKay the Carillon Theoren Fleury has been traded to the Colorado Avalanche. Words I never thought that I would hear. The trade consisted of Theo Fleury and Chris Dingman to Colorado for Rene Corbet, Wade Belak and a decent prospect. What? Initially I was in complete shock, having heard that my favourite hockey player and heart of the Calgary Flames did not want to leave Calgary this season. His reasons were simple. His wife was about to give birth to their first child and the team was in the middle of a playoff run. The problem was however that Theoren Fleury had openly announced he would test the free agent market after the season. What was GM Al Coates to do? Rumours suggested that the Flames organization had decided not to trade him and actually sign him in the summer. Mr. Coates was in a lose-lose situation. Trade his best player in the middle of a playoff run or lose him for nothing after the season.

Mario Lemieux has recaptured the hockey spotlight. Legend lives again
Dec. 27, 2000
The news that a 35-year-old athlete was coming out of retirement following over three years away from active participation really isn't news anymore. The world of sports has seen plenty of comeback stories over the years. But when news that a 35-year-old athlete is coming out of retirement following a three-plus season layoff begins to worry opposing players, then you have news! That has been one of the byproducts of Mario Lemieux's decision to return to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The news that the Hall of Famer is coming back has been met with encouraging words from players Lemieux will soon call "foe." But you get the impression that no one would be daft enought to utter anything but complimentary phrases. After all, you don't want to run the risk of Lemieux getting angry with you. His resume in these matters speaks for itselt. The two-time Stanley Cup champion returns with six NHL scoring titles tucked under his arm, and is looking to add to the staggering totals of 613 goals, 881 assists and 1,494 assists he compiled in his first 12-season NHL tour.
