Einstein Reveals Game Plan
Einstein Group plc
, the international multi media group is now on course for an exciting future in game and education based media, having today, 25 January 2002, purchased Intellectual Leisure Ltd which owns some of the assets previously held by BGN plc.
The deal gives Einstein Group a five-year contract with World Chess Champion, Vladimir Kramnik; all contracts/arrangements relating to the proposed ‘Brains in Bahrain’ (Man v Machine) tournament; all contracts relating to the Dortmund qualifying rounds of the Chess World Championships and all contracts/arrangements relating to the proposed Chess World Championships in 2003. Intellectual Leisure Ltd will now be a subsidiary of Einstein Group plc.
Steve Timmins, CEO, Einstein Group, says “This deal offers enormous potential for Einstein Group, giving the brand an unbeatable edge over any other educational based, digital TV channel rivals. Indeed, there are two major areas of synergy between Einstein Group’s digital science and technology TV channel, einstein.tv, and Intellectual Leisure Ltd: einstein.tv provides a television platform for World Championship chess matches, enhancing the potential for sponsorship funding and subscriptions. Intellectual Leisure Ltd provides Einstein with intellectual property, sports rights, high profile content and an intellectual gaming future.
Timmins adds: “There is an almost exact demographic, intellectual and editorial fit between einstein.tv and the world of chess which will offer distinct distribution and territorial advantages. Indeed, news of the potential relationship has met with much enthusiasm in countries worldwide who are already in negotiations to have einstein.tv’s science and technology programming. In terms of education, chess has proven intellectual benefits for young people and the highest growth in chess playing is being seen both on the Internet and in schools.”

World chess Champion vladimir kramnik – Official Statement April 28th, 2005.vladimir kramnik. World chess Champion
http://www.chess-mate.com/2005/kramnik.htm
World Chess Champion Vladimir Kramnik – Official Statement After defending the title of Classical World Chess Champion a few months ago against Peter Leko, I consider it important now to state my position regarding the current discussion about the World Chess Championship. First of all, I would like to make it clear that I will not participate in the FIDE Championship, which is planned to take place this Fall in Argentina. In the agreement that was signed in Prague by, among others, FIDE and myself, it was clearly stated that the Classical World Champion, eventually determined by my final match with Peter Leko, was qualified to play a unification match against the winner of the final match for the FIDE World Championship. I fail to see any reason why the cancellation of the final FIDE match should influence my position on the agreed unification process. It is therefore incomprehensible that FIDE included me in the list of possible participants a decision clearly in conflict with our existing agreement. Just for the record: FIDE did not even inform me before doing so. Nevertheless, I am still ready to complete the unification process in the spirit of the Prague agreement. Therefore, the organization of a match between the winner of the FIDE event in Argentina and myself could be a solution to break the deadlock. I want to make it clear that I would be ready to participate in such a unification match.

A Life in the Day of Vladimir Kramnik Eva Vermandel Vladimir kramnik, 26, is the world chess champion. Next year he travels to Bahrain to play Deep Fritz, the world's most Vadvanced chess program, for a prize of £1m. He lives alone in Moscow. Interview by Richard Johnson. Portrait by Eva Vermandel. It's quite difficult for me to get up in the morning. I like to lie in my bed for 10 minutes and think of nothing - it's my favourite 10 minutes of the day. While I lie there, I gently exercise from top to bottom. Head, neck, fingers - I have exercises for all the body's muscle groups. I don't get out of bed much before noon. Maybe I'll have a sandwich or a yogurt, but lunch is at 3pm, so there's no point having breakfast. Just a cup of coffee. It's two hours before I feel completely fresh. My apartment is five years old. It's in a good district, just south of Moscow, but it's small. I have one room where I sit at my computer, and one where I sleep. There is a balcony, but it doesn't overlook anything romantic. There are no pictures of me about the place, and the rooms are half empty. There's a bed, a table and two chessboards I keep for training purposes. They aren't expensive gold sets that cost £100,000; they cost £100, and were both birthday presents from my brother.
