Bobby Fischer - Chess player or International terrorist?
Former world chess champion, Bobby Fischer, 62, has now become a citizen of Iceland, after being detained in Japan for 9 months. Bobby Fischer is wanted in the USA on criminal charges. But what terrible crime did Fischer commit that has kept the United States on his back for 13 years? Did he supply weapons to al-Qaeda, raise money for terrorists or perhaps threaten to assassinate the President? No, he played an exhibition match in the former Yugoslavia violating sanctions placed on this country. The Bush administration have almost written off the world's worst terrorist (Osama bin Laden) in less than 4 years, even though he is believed to have been the "mastermind" behind the 9/11 attack. Osama bin Laden is no longer considered a major player for al-Qaeda, yet Bobby Fischer, who has not caused the death of more than 3,000 people, has been found guilty of playing a game of chess and seems to warrant more attention?

ROBERT JAMES (BOBBY) FISCHER by Bill Wall
Robert James (Bobby) Fischer was born at 2:39 pm on March 9, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois (Michael Reese hospital) to Regina Wender Fischer Pustan (born in Switzerland of Jewish parents on March 31, 1913) and Hans-Gerhardt Fischer (born September 28, 1908). His father was a German biophysicist from Berlin (Hans and Regina married on November 4, 1933 in Moscow) and his mother was a riveter in a defense plant at the time. She later became a grade school teacher, a registered nurse, a physician (she first entered medical school in the Moscow in 1933 but did not complete her medical degree), and completed a PhD in hematology. She went on to doing pro bono medical work for the poor in Central America and South America. She could speak English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, and Portuguese fluently. In 1945 Hans-Gerhardt Fischer left the Fischer family and divorced Regina. He was born in Berlin in 1908. He moved to Santiago, Chile. Hans never lived with Regina in the United States. Bobby Fischer never met his father. Regina had custody of Bobby and his older sister, Joan Fischer Targ (born in Moscow in 1938 and died on June 2, 1998 in Portala Valley, California of a cerebral hemorrhage). In 1948 they moved to Mobile, Arizona where Regina taught in an elementary school.

"Good News. It’s Time to Do Away With the USA Once and For All"
As with the majority of geniuses, Bobby Fisher is inclined to eccentric behavior
It’s easy to guess that the 9/11 tragedy in New York and Washington is meant. These words were said not by bin Laden, but an American this time, 11th World chess champion Bobby Fisher.
Fisher is a mysterious figure. He was born in Chicago, March 9, 1943. Although he learnt to play chess at the age of six and was a professional chess player at 16 already, there were few people who supposed that he would be one of the most famous grand masters, especially since the future champion left school because of his poor grades.
This time, we would like to speak not about Fisher’s chess achievements, as are already perfectly known to the whole of the world. As with majority of geniuses, Bobby Fisher is inclined to eccentric behavior. For this very reason, special services, the FBI to be more precise, have given the champion their close attention. On the one hand, this is not a surprise at all, as Bobby Fisher has been always known for his criticism of the US political system and of the commercialization of chess in particular.
On the other hand, the US authorities were probably highly disappointed that the American champion, who had put an end to the monopoly of the Soviet chess holders of the champion title, treats his motherland with so little respect. It was really very problematic to use Fisher’s name in the ideological struggle against the Soviet Union.
