Contact Us Greg Oden Rules Reebok Event Center named Big Time MVP for second time LAS VEGAS SUN It didn't have the energy of Friday night's contest, but the much-anticipated rematch of Spiece Indy Heat and the D1 Greyhounds in Tuesday's Big Time championship brought just as much excitement. In front of a crowd of around 2,400 at Foothill High School , Spiece and tournament MVP Greg Oden hung on for a 73-67 win in the Reebok tournament final. Spiece became the first team in the tournament's 11-year history to repeat as the champion of the elite Open Division; Greg Oden was the first repeat MVP. Greg Oden was subdued after the game, despite some calling the Spiece team the best travel basketball team ever. Spiece has lost two games this summer, both in tournament championships. "We get our names up on the little thing," Greg Oden said, referring to a wall-sized poster with tournament champions and MVPs hanging outside Foothill's gym. "We played together as a team, all five players doing the same thing on the court. That's the greatest thing." Spiece rode a 15-4 run and eventually built a 32-20 lead with less than four minutes to play in the first half, with the Greyhounds looking befuddled by Greg Oden's size, strength and speed.

CLEMSON, SCTyrone Walker and Tywan Harris scored career highs with 25 and 17 points to lead the Winthrop Eagles to a 66-61 victory Tuesday night over the Clemson Tigers. The win ended an 0-25 record for Winthrop against Atlantic Coast Conference schools and was the first victory against Clemson in seven meetings. With the victory, Winthrop improves to 3-5 while Clemson drops to 7-4. With Walker scoring 18 of his game-high 25 points in the first half and Harris having 10 at intermission, Winthrop led by as many as 17 points at 37-20 before taking a 39-29 lead to the locker room. Clemson, which came into the game with a 35-0 record all-time against Big South Conference schools, fought back in the second half, but was never able to take a lead. The Tigers, behind the inside scoring of Chris Hobbs cut the Winthrop lead to one point at 62-61 with 1:17 left. Greg Lewis gave Winthrop a three-point cushion with 19 seconds left when he converted both ends of a bonus free throw. Edward Scott's three-pointer from the right wing missed with nine seconds left and the rebound went to Winthrop. After calling a time out to set up a play, Walker took a full court pass from Harris to jam the ball as time expired giving Winthrop the five-point victory.

Name: Greg
Date: 9/7/04
Today was the first day of FLL. I don’t think anyone really knew what to expect as they filed into the room and glanced over to the table only to see the challenge mat- intricate and colorful. As our team members entered the room, the mat had no legos on it- just the graphics that had been printed onto it. The pieces had been somewhat sorted previously by James and I. During this class, we were surprised at our setup speed. We were able to complete the entire setup in just 1 day!
-Walker built the fence, the ball racks, and part of the basketball hoop.
-Jake built the red flags, the CD holder, the busses, the cereal bowl holder, and the white flag.
-Zach built the stairs, the table, and the boat.
-Aaron built the glasses, the chairs, and helped with the white flag.
-Gabe built the basketball hoop.
-I built the gate.
There was two new faces and six familiar ones (including myself and James). There was also talk of several others to join the team in the near future. All in all, we had a fun, productive, day.
Name: Zach Date: 9/9/04 Today was the first day of programming. We started breaking up into groups to do missions. I, out of nowhere, came up with a team name that we will most likely be using because we all agreed that it sounded great: "The Spectacles!" We all liked this name because it was a pun (spectacles, glasses, and spectacle incredible scene).

Greg Oden ('06-IN) showed his stuff and staked his claim early on as one of the, maybe the best big man of the class of '06. His teammate, Daequan Cook ('06-OH), made a name for himself too with some crowd-pleasing plays. Soon-to-be sophomore Brandon Jennings may be the next high school underclassman making national waves in a few years following in the footsteps of LeBron James and O.J. Mayo ('07-OH).
