It would be nice if JR Smith knew how to pass. Fuck, his ballhog exibition was embarassing, even in a game like this. Never the less, he is really talented with surprisingly a lot of range. Felton and McCants are both rumored to enter the draft so it should be interesting- that trio with Sean May makes them immediately ACC favorites even over Duke where Shaun Livingston may go pro as well.
Besides that kid Gay (UConn) the Big East really needs to get their recruiting act together. Telfair should be at St. John's throwing alley oops to senior Darius Miles. It's Primetime 04-01-2004, 04:06 AM

BASEBALL, BASKETBALL AND MORE TV!!! You may have noticed yesterday in looking at my “Hit Counter” on the left side of this screen that this site went over the 25,000 hit mark! That may not seem like a big number when compared to the 400,000 that Aaron’s Baseball Blog just surpassed, or the 500,000 hits that Baseball Musings flew by, but I am happy with it. I want to thank everyone who has stopped by my site daily. I would like to encourage everyone to tell 3 or 4 people about this website today and encourage them to stop by the site and if they like it, they could tell three or four more people about it. It could be like the concept on Pay It Forward I’m kidding, of course, but I really do appreciate everyone who reads this site, especially those who take the time to e-mail me feedback . You don’t know how much that helps and encourages me. I won’t name names, but I also want to thank all the other bloggers who have been very supportive to me! Be sure to take a look at the sites on the left side of this webpage and then check out their work. Here’s to adding another 25,000 to that counter!

Dateline: 04/24/97 Though the Bulls are the class of the league this year, tying what had been until their own record season last year the best record in history with a 69-13 mark, there are many saying that they can lose this year. The injuries to Kukoc and Rodman led to three losses in the last four (unimportant) games. Teams like Miami, New York, Utah, and Houston are all thinking seriously about ways to defeat the greatest team in history. If they don't watch out, however, they all could face stiff tests early in the playoffs. Below I present the basic odds of each team winning their respective playoff series and their odds to win in three, four, or five games. Among the obvious things is that New York is in for a dogfight in their opening series, with the lowest chance among the favorites of winning their series. Eastern Conference

NEW YORK, September 21, 2004 The accomplishments and impact of the 1972-73 Queens College women’s basketball team were recognized when its members became the first women’s team inducted into the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place during an awards dinner on Tuesday evening, September 21, at the New York Athletic Club, 180 Central Park South between 7th Avenue and Avenue of the Americas.
Queens College joined just a handful of teams in the City’s Basketball Hall of Fame, including the 1969-70 NBA champion Knicks, the 1949-50 City College team that won both the NCAA and NIT crowns, and the 1963-64 undefeated Power Memorial H.S. team that featured Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
The Queens College women hosted a standing-room-only national championship tournament in 1972-73, finished second, and attracted a previously unprecedented level of media and public attention that became a benchmark for other colleges. The team had a 22-5 overall record; a 19-point average margin of victory; and an undefeated streak against New York State colleges that would last nearly a decade. This was the first women’s team from New York City to play for a national championship.
The Queens College team proved that women could play a fast-paced, aggressive, highly skilled game that crowds would enjoy. Its success started the process of opening the door for the team to play at Madison Square Garden two years later, before a crowd of almost 12,000the first women’s collegiate basketball game ever played in that storied arena.
