Clippers, Mobley Strike Deal
POSTED: 7:32 pm CDT August 3, 2005 Los Angeles, CA The Los Angeles Clippers and free agent guard Cuttino Mobley have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract. Although terms of the deal were not released, the Los Angeles Times reported earlier in the summer that the pact was for five years and worth $42 million. "Cuttino is a very tough competitor at both ends of the floor," stated vice president of basketball operations Elgin Baylor. "He shoots the ball extremely well from the perimeter, which will help our low post players. He's a veteran who brings both playoff experience and leadership." Mobley, who will be 30 when the season commences, joins his fourth team since the end of the 2003-04 campaign. After being dealt from Houston to Orlando as part of the Tracy McGrady deal prior to the start of last season, the Magic shipped him to Sacramento in January.

He was so shaken by the tragic trade of his backcourt partner and buddy Cuttino Mobley to the Kings that he said he did not know why he should get up in the morning. But we have seen over the years that sometimes for Francis the words don't come out quite right. It's always a sad thing when good sentences go bad. So Francis got over his heartache with 31 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in Detroit on Friday, mixing in one dunk-contest slam in which he bounced a pass to himself and took about five steps to go get it, and all kinds of trash talk. If he needs to distract himself from his troubles, he has Thursday's meeting with the Rockets to look forward to.

KSF LEAGUE ANALYST REPORT
Warning! This article is technically a Blog

Yeah, it's another blog, and you're going to have to deal with it. I'm bored, it's hot, there are things to write about, and I can't creatively collect my thoughts into an original piece, so I'll give you my thoughts in the form of a blog. So, in my first, and hopefully my last blog, I'll discuss the NBA Finals, the NBA Draft, the new CBA, and my disgust for the neighborhood mailman. If you wait long enough, I might say something interesting.

B-ball in June, WNBA, thinking "outside the box"
Anybody out there? Hello? Is this thing on? Man, what a long, boring off-season and it's only June! Basketball is still on TV, and I'm not talking about the kind that I still think that I could dominate as a short, white, balding guy who sits in front of his computer all day (ahem, that would be the W-NBA). And do you mind if I do one "bit" on the WNBA? It has been a while, I think I'm due for one, small comment.
