My Sicilian grandmother used to make me, and everyone in our family, wear a corno pendant (aka Italian horn) to ward off the evil eye, and if there were any problems she did some magic spells with garbanzo beans. I think I may send a few cornos to the Sacramento Kings and some garbanzo beans as well.
It’s unnerving – will it ever be possible for the Kings to approach the playoffs with a full set of healthy players. Every year it is something new, Peja’s foot, Webber’s knee, Bobby’s abs, and now a broken leg for Brad Miller. You have to wonder when a critical player has such a strange injury – actually two – a severe contusion followed by a fracture, what is going on here. My first thoughts were for Miller; hopefully he heals quickly and completely. My second thoughts were not again . Without Miller the Kings are too undersized to take on many teams, take Houston for example.
This past week they got by Memphis and LA, barely, but didn’t have the luck, not surprisingly, to get past Houston.

i was looking at ilgauskas from the cavs (as long as he doesn't injure himself *again*). maybe jason williams from grizzlies. they say he's cleaned up his game, so maybe less penalty points on missed shots and TOs.

Scoresheet's 2004-05 Basketball Player List
For use in the season beginning in November, 2004. The new 2005-06 player list will be uploaded right around September 16th, 2005.
The first column on the player lists is that player's Scoresheet player number. The second number is the total Scoresheet points they scored last season, the third number is their points per 40 minutes played, next is their shooting points per 40 minutes, then rebounding per 40, play-making points per 40 minutes, then defensive points per 40, then age as of opening day. Also shown is that player's team (as of 9/23/04). Players with a dash (-) after their name were unsigned as of 9/23/04, and in that case the team shown is the last team they were with. The (1) after some players means they were a first round pick in last June's NBA draft. Create ranking list: There is now a feature on our web site that allows you to create your ranking list by simply clicking on player's names. You can also edit that ranking list by cutting and pasting, can save it to work on later, and can e-mail your list straight to us from the web page. Your single stage draft list should have up to 250 players on it. (You can list less and if your list runs out we will draft remaining players for your team based on whomever had the most points last year.)

Reports JV Cats Finish Season on Strong Note 3/1/05 by Brad Miller The JV Wildcats finished the season on a strong note as they came back to defeat the Milford Mavericks, 39-37. The Mavericks controlled the game from the start with a ball-control offense and a zone that forced the Wildcats into some impatient shots, as Novi went into the half trailing, 17-14. As the third quarter developed, the Wildcats started to gain momentum as Adam Chandler and Brian Smith both hit threes to pull the Wildcats into a tie heading into the final stanza. Brian Smith continued his hot shooting by hitting 2 more three point shots as the Wildcats built a 7 point lead with a minute to play. The Mavericks mounted a furious comeback but Mike Longo hit a couple of key free throws to ice the game. Brian Smith led all scorers with 12 points and 4 three point shots. Freshman Caleb Dean finished out his JV year with 9 points, while Adam Chandler pitched in with 5 points.

Sacramento's Miller out, breaks leg in drill
By wire services Published March 13, 2005 Sacramento Kings center Brad Miller will be out for at least a month after breaking his left leg during a light shooting drill Saturday. Miller, a two-time All-Star, missed Sacramento's last six games with a bruised calf. He was expected to return for today's game against Houston - but in the latest bizarre injury in a long franchise history for the Kings, Miller broke his left fibula during a noncontact drill. The bone will heal in four to six weeks, according to team doctors, and Miller should be able to ride a stationary bike in 10 days. But the playoffs begin in six weeks, and the Kings aren't sure whether he'll be ready.
