Illini's Brown Makes Himself Eligible For NBA Draft
POSTED: 11:33 am EDT May 6, 2005 Champaign, IL University of Illinois guard Dee Brown has made himself eligible for the 2005 NBA Draft. However, he has not signed with an agent, leaving open the possibility of returning to the Illini for his senior season. "We certainly understand Dee and his family's desire to more closely explore his NBA options and gain a better understanding of where his position would be in the draft," Illinois head coach Bruce Weber said. "We will continue to educate Dee about his standing through feedback from his team workouts, and we hope that whatever decision he ultimately makes, that it's in his best interest for his long-term future."

CROATIAN STARS UKIC AND PASALIC SHINE AT WORLD JUNIORS
Tuesday brought us a titanic overtime classic at the World Junior Championships between Croatia and Slovenia, with the Croats winning 113-103. A pair of KK Split team stars, Roko-Leni Ukic and Drago Pasalic , shone brighter than any of the sad sacks playing in the States today. Both had monster games for Croatia and could have their names called at the 2004 Draft next June. But the Player of the Day award goes to Illinois' Dee Brown , who just went beserk on Lithuania with a USA-record setting performance to cap a comeback 87-84 win.
