Contact Coaches Baseball Dragons run summer baseball camp The Dragons baseball coaches organized their annual summer baseball camp recently. Nearly 40 young baseball players learned baseball fundamentals and played games under the direction of the Dragons coaching staff. ( Photo gallery Three Dragons earn national honors Catcher Anthony Hunter and pitcher Kurt Thompson both were selected as NAIA Baseball All-Americans. Hunter and Thompson earned Honorable Mention selections, with Thompson being the first Dragons pitcher to earn the honor. Hunter batted .366 with 5 home runs and 35 RBI, while Thompson went 8-3 with a 3.52 ERA, leading the AMC in victories. Cliff Johnson was also named a NAIA-Daktronics Scholar Athlete as well as a AMC Scholar Athlete. He is majoring in Accounting. In memoriam: Brian Pizzoferrato Brian A. Pizzoferrato passed away May 19th, 2005 at the Cleveland Clinic. He is survived by his Wife Deanna (Schieferstein); son Ronald J.; father Ronald P. and the late JoAnn S. (Ferraro); brothers Ronald J. and Michael (Cynthia); parents-in-law Rich (holly) Schieferstein and Sandra (John) Bacon; brother in law James (Patricia) Schieferstein; sister-in-law Corey (Scott) Olszanski; and many nieces and nephews. Brian worked as a General Manager for MotorCars Auto Body Center in Cleveland Hts. He played for the Dragons from 1988-92. Brian loved spending time with his family, especially his wife and son, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. | |
