Stadiums that I have visited
Here are my reviews of the baseball stadiums I have visited around the country: Metrodome: Well, I live in Minneapolis so I've been to Twins games at the Metrodome more times than I can count. The Metrodome is a football stadium, so there are only a few thousand seats that face home plate and are nice seats for watching a baseball game. And since it is a football stadium, most of the seats have obstructed views- for instance, if you are sitting in the upper deck in right field you can't see the whole right field corner. But what can you do? Wrigley Field: I've been to Wrigley four times and let me just say, this is baseball! It seems like Wrigley, the area around the stadium and the Cubs just have this "mystique" that contributes to it being one of the best places to watch a baseball game in America. Once you walk in, look at the ivy and the field, see the players taking their positions and notice the sign that says "Welcome to the friendly confines of Wrigley Field" you're hooked. At least, I was. You don't get a lot of information at the stadium as far as pitch speed and pitch count but you aren't bombarded with annoying large advertisements either. Jack Murphy Stadium: I don't know what they're complaining about in San Diego. So it's not the GREATEST stadium I've ever been to, but I thought it was a pretty nice place. So it's kind of a cookie cutter, multi-purpose stadium but I didn't think it was bad at all. Of course, with the weather in San Diego is so nice that you could play baseball in a cardboard box most of the time! It's a little hard to get to because there is only one main road and it takes a long time to get out of there if there are large crowds.

The Scouting Report, By the Fans, For the Fans
Part 1 - The Best and Worst Fielders in Baseball (2002 - 2003)
Tangotiger Background If you are new to this project, you should read about it first The Preliminary Results Thank you to all those who participated! I've received almost 500 ballots (and am still accepting them until Opening Day). I thought it would be a little fun to look at some early returns. For this particular article, it will simply be various lists of the best and the worst, as you fans see them. Notes To qualify for these lists, a player had to have at least 5 ballots for a category. 406 of the 499 players on the ballots qualified. The players who received the most number of ballots were Jeter, Bernie Williams, and Soriano, at 58 each. I rejected 1.2% of the ballots (6 in all) for nonsensical selections. In one case, a fan marked all traits for all players as "1", meaning "poor". celebrity spotlight Snowball meets Tiger By Jeff Fletcher
sfbaygolf.com Editor J.T. Snow has lived his life in celebrity circles. Not only has he been a major league baseball player since 1992 with the San Francisco Giants since 1997 but his father Jack played in the NFL, so J.T. has been tugged along to meet star athletes since he was a little kid. Still, none of that compared with the guy he met last winter: Tiger Woods. J.T. Snow Real job : first baseman, San Francisco Giants
    Handicap:
    Favorite Bay Area course:
Lake Merced “I’ve met a lot of sports figures and been around a lot of sports celebrities, but nothing was like when I shook his hand,” Snow said. “It was like a movie or a dream. He’s 24, eight years younger than me. But I’m thinking ‘This is the greatest golfer in the world.’” Snow, an avid golfer himself, is a member of the Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach, in Southern California. That’s close to where Tiger grew up, and when he’s back home visiting the family between cashing million-dollar checks, he plays Big Canyon. Snow was about to tee it up with a pair of big league buddies, Rich Aurilia and former major leaguer Jim Abbott, when Tiger showed up to the course looking to join a foursome. (Imagine, for a moment: “Let’s play a four-ball match. I’ll take the new guy.”)

    Notes:
    • The Giants are strong on offense. There starting lineup is good, their bench is deep, and they have some prospects who are ready to contribute in the majors. I selected Davis over Feliz as the Starter at 3B as a guess. Damon Minor has spent the last few years becoming a much better player than his more heralded twin brother. I think I would have looked to shop Snow this offseason, were I the Giants. Who knows, maybe they did and found nothing interesting. I still like Juan Melo. I think he'll eventually claw out a utility infielder career somewhere in the majors.
