1934 Detroit Tigers
1939 American League Film
1947 Boston Braves "The Braves Family" features great shots of old Braves Field, Warren Spahn, Johnny Sain, and Tommy Holmes. The first color and sound film ever made about major league baseball.
1947 World Series (and 1947 All-Star Game)
This film includes highlights of the Yankees' 4-games-to -3 win over the Brooklyn Dodgers as well as the AL's 2-1 triumph in the All-Star Game at Wrigley Field. The 36-minute World Series film features two of the greatest moments in Series history: Cookie Lavagetto's double breaks up Bill Bevens' no-hitter and beats the Yanks in Game 4; and Al Gionfriddo's catch robs Joe DiMaggio of a 3-run homer in Game 6.
Highlights of three different All-Star Games (1948, 1952, and 1955). The 1948 All-Star Game at old Sportsman's Park in St. Louis, features homers by Stan Musial and Hoot Evers in the AL's 5-2 win. The 1952 game at Shibe Park, Philadelphia, was the first All-Star game to be halted by rain, with the NL leading 5-2 after five innings. Most of the 35-minute video covers the 1955 mid-summer classic at County Stadium. Musial's homer in the 12th gives the NL a thrilling 6-5 win.
