As some of you know this space is my moonlighting section. I haven't been able to post anything for a couple of weeks because I have been dealing with every kind of fantasy baseball league under the sun! Let me tell you folks, there are a lot of leagues and a ton of scoring systems. Some of you clowns really make stupid leagues, but that’s another matter entirely.
Ugh! One thing this job does afford me is to really get any idea of how serious fantasy baseball is, and how tough people feel with the power of anonymity behind their emails. Let me tell you as person who deals with those of you in cyber land, you people are OUT OF YOUR MINDS! We get calls at 2 AM; we get people cursing to high heaven letting us know how much we SUCK, only to tell us HOW AWESOME we are with the next breath. It is unreal the passion running your FAKE baseball team can instill. I can only imagine what the real General Managers of Baseball teams must feel like? Can you imagine if you had a crappy fantasy season you could be fired? Ha! That would be great! Seeing how Larry’s Corner League is going, I might be the first one to go. I am planning on posting the league draft results soon. I'd love it you all would rate the draft let me know if I had a good one in the 20 team league.

Phillies' Padilla too much against struggling Marlins July 17, 2005
CBS SportsLine.com wire reports
PHILADELPHIA With his spot in the starting rotation potentially in jeopardy, Vicente Padilla was much better than Dontrelle Willis The right-hander allowed two hits in seven scoreless innings and tripled in two runs off the struggling Willis, leading the Philadelphia Phillies over the Florida Marlins 8-4 Sunday. Mike Lieberthal homered and Tomas Perez The All-Star left-hander allowed eight runs matching his season high and 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings. He was coming off his worst start of the season, when he gave up eight runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 innings of a 9-6 loss to the Chicago Cubs on July 8. Marlins manager Jack McKeon wasn't concerned about Willis. "He'll pitch out of it," McKeon said. "He's a pro and works hard. He'll figure out a way to straighten himself out."
