John Kruk should be a success as a studio analyst on ESPN's "Baseball Tonight" if he follows two rules. Rule 1: Tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Rule 2: Don't try to be funny every time you talk. Don't force the humor. Let the show come to your humor. Kruk's knowledge, wit and informal manner fit in well on Fox Sports Net's play pen, "Best Damn Sports Show Period." Kruk has that John Belushi -Bluto Blutarsky "Animal House" quality, which serves him well. Kruk left "Best Damn" to join ESPN as a regular on "Baseball Tonight," with the possibility of working game telecasts for ESPN. When asked why he left Fox for ESPN, Kruk said: "Two things. One location. I live on the East Coast, so naturally going to Bristol (Conn.) is a lot quicker commute for me than going to Los Angeles every weekend. And two, the show on Fox was basically an all-sports entertainment show. I love baseball. Baseball is my life. It has been my life since I was a little kid.

But more than that, he was a tremendous person." - Hank Aaron on Mickey Mantle "Looking at the ball going over the fence isn't going to help." - Hank Aaron "I had just turned 20, and Jackie told me the only way to be successful at anything was to go out and do it.
