Chapman vs La Verne West Regional - Game 5 - May 21, 2004 Story Boxscore Play-by-Play Chapman Defeats ULV, 6-2 Orange CA - The University of La Verne baseball team (28-11) suffered its first defeat at the NCAA West Regionals, falling 6-2 to defending NCAA champion and tournament host Chapman University (29-12) at Hart Park. Panther hurler Bobby Klovstad held the ULV in check, allowing two runs on seven hits in eight innings of work. Chapman scored twice in both the second and third innings and plated single runs in the fifth and sixth off ULV's Alan Sarrail, who despite giving up 15 hits pitched a complete game in the loss. La Verne held its only lead at 1-0 in the first inning on a B.J. DuBarry single which scored Lucas Berry. ULV would score again in the third as a Chapman fielding error allowed Tony Lagos to score from second.
