Focus On NPL Club: Harbour View Football Club.
The RBSC focuses on one of Jamaica’s most successful clubs - HARBOUR VIEW Football club. The story of Harbour View Football Club is one that chronicles a tale of what is possible as it relates to local football development and points to exciting possibilities for the future if commitment to ideals hold fast. This is a story about application of initiative, innovation, commitment, dedicated service and hard work lasting for more than thirty (30) years by the people of the Harbour View community. On the 4 th of March 1974, a group of enthusiastic thoughtful citizens concerned about the welfare of the young in the East St. Andrew middle class community gathered in the Harbour View Primary School. They decided that they would use their common love of football, ‘the beautiful game’, to exercise the minds and bodies of the community’s children in the building of character, the appreciation of cooperative team effort and some life skills. All children in the community were entitled to partake in these organized actives. Football was the passion for many in the Harbour View community. It was decided that the club’s first name would be a simple “Harbour View”. The first action taken was the election of officers for the newly created entity bearing the name of the community.

1976 Topps Football Cards
By Patrick Mondout Topps' design for the 1976 football cards once again featured colors that had little or no relation to the team a featured player performed for (the colors rookie card of Walter Payton on the right might have you believing he was a Green Bay Packer). A number of the subset cards (record breakers, league leaders - see below) featured pigskin borders - though not all the way to the edge of the card. The inclusion of the Walter Payton card makes this set one of the most valuable of the Super70s. Other rookies for 1976 include Jack Lambert, Ed 'Too Tall' Jones, Randy White, Brian Sipe and Harvey Martin. The blue and orange card backs featured a biography, statistics, and a cartoon with a trivia question. Wonder Bread, with the help of Topps, distributed its third and final set of football cards in 1976 1976 Topps at a Glance Back Checklist Wax Pack Record Breakers Leaders Team Checklists

Wednesday May 25 2005 Email story Print Story Scotland manager Walter Smith believes Berti Vogts was unfortunate to be ousted on the back of a draw in Moldova.
The Tartan Army decided it had finally had enough of the under-achieving German following the 1-1 stalemate in Chisinau in October. The Moldovans are due in Scotland for the Hampden Park return on June 4 but Smith was quick to point out that the other nations in Group Five had also struggled to cope with them. The Smith era began with an encouraging performance in defeat in Italy in March but only victory would be good enough against Moldova. The Hoops suffered the trauma of throwing away the Bank of Scotland Premier League title on Sunday when they allowed Motherwell to score two late goals. Smith backed goalkeepers Robert Douglas and David Marshall and utility man Jackie McNamara to overcome the disappointment, however.

Despite the fact that their Big XII brethren from the South division at Oklahoma have an incumbent Heisman winner in quarterback Jason White, two North division squads are trotting out their own campaigns for respective favorite sons. At Missouri and Kansas State this fall, campaign talk will be diverted away from White and even Bush and Kerry, focused instead on Brad Smith and Darren Sproles. Smith, Mizzou’s dazzling dual-threat quarterback, set a school record for rushing touchdowns last season and led the Tigers to a bowl game for the first time in five years. Both the junior quarterback and the team face lofty expectations in 2004, and each hinges upon Brad Smith’s ability to consistently make plays passing the ball, an area in which he has struggled. Heisman voters will be watching as Smith attempts to pilot the Tigers to the top of the conference. At Kansas State, senior Darren Sproles is one the smallest players on the field, but he will likely be the biggest producer of gaudy statistics. In 2003, the tailback scorched opponents for 1,986 rushing yards en route to a consensus first-team All-Big XII season. Sproles needs only 1,628 yards this season to surpass Ricky Williams (the 1998 Heisman winner) as the Big XII’s all-time leading rusher.
